They just reopened the recruitment for NTR Captain.
Any info on the DEC contract? Salary ? Is it commutable or have to live in Leipzig ? Regards and Merry Christmas |
As a DEC you will start with 144.000€ gross, in general it is commutable and you dont have to live in Leipzig.
There is the possibility to use the jumpseat within the network, but you should have a plan how to get to Leipzig. |

All DHL airlines stopped hiring for the time being, DHA might take on some people end of the year or next year, but that is still to decide.

Apparently DHX are looking for FO and a few DEC in the new year and the net is more than the gross at DHA.
Thanks! |

Generally it is possible to commute from MXP, you should always get 3 days off in a row, it depends a bit on the mood of the scheduler, you might get 5 or even 6 days off every now and then, or then again just 3. Using the jumpseat on the weekend is very very limited, as there are not many flights, so you might need to consider that.

Hard decision to make for me, I have 8 days off in a row at my current job but DHL is a great way to get into long haul territory |
Good evening!
I have seen the NTR 757/767 adv for DHL Austria and sent in an application(currently skipper on the 737, previous A300 cargo command experience...). Currently flying(and living in) out of VCE. Seing my beloved old A300 in yellow colours always being parked here when taxiing out for 04R.... just to confirm - commuting would be an option because I have absolutely NO intention moving to LEJ? Is it normally ON in blocks? How about STBY? I heard already that jumpseating on the freighters is absolutely no problem and I assume that this A300 here in VCE is coming in from LEJ.... Any insights appreciated, as well about a possible interview process! Thank you!

A former collegue of mine joined DHL on the A300 MANY years ago, met him(a very long while ago) in Luton during a layover(different companies) and back than(must have been 2014 or before) and he was on a 7 ON/ 6 OFF roster. Reading your post this option does not exist anymore if 5 or 6 Off is already a present of the gods(or a scheduler)? Thanks! |

I passed the BQ and am now waiting for the sim check in January. If you need any advice on the BQ, I’d be happy to share. Also, I’d appreciate it if anyone has information on what to expect for the sim check and the rest of the process.

@tomuchwork @everybody, DHL Austria and DHL in general is a good place to work in terms of job stability and money, but a few things you should keep in mind:
- it is night flying and that can be tiring (what a surprise 😎) - no fancy new aircraft, we fly old ships, by the time we gonna replace them with what ever, that replacement will already be old. ;-) - long haul is an option for the future in DHL Air Austria, at the moment there is no long haul route, we are all convinced it will come, but you also need to be aware that you join the end of the list, even if you have 767 or long haul experience, it will be a wait for you. - commuting to LEJ is possible, but YOU choose to work in Leipzig, so you should have plans how to get there. We have some people who underestimated this and are now complaining because they struggle with the roster and the jumpseat, but for most people it works fine. Jumpseating is possible, but can be an issue, for e.g. if your jumpseat leaves at 04:00 but you land at 04:15 from CPH on your last day, than you would need to find another way to get home, or take the jumpseat a day later. But usually it works fine, most of the time you will be back to Leipzig just before midnight on the last working day. In addition, going to work and home on the weekend is an issue and might be difficult. The company is not responsible to make your commuting work. - The min OFF is 3 days and your first duty day is a kind of travel day, where you start in the evening according to your jumpseat. You get 11 OFF days per month, but we do not have a fixed pattern at the moment. Hopefully that will change in the future. But at the moment its a flex roster. Again, if you are able to adapt to the conditions with night flying and commuting to Leipzig, then I think DHL Air Austria and DHL in general is one of the best jobs in Europe, specially at the moment as we hiring DEC. There are a few goodies here and there that we are used to but are unheard of in other companies, one is, your OFF days are OFF, they do not get changed, never!!!, unless offer to fly and get a OFF day payment. |
For those who have a SIM check coming, you are welcome to contact me, there is a 767 SIM in FRA, it is a bit different to the 757 in Leipzig, but probably the best you can get.

Hello everyone, has anyone already received news or started the selection process for DHL/EAT yet?
If not, does anyone have any idea when we can expect to hear something? |
