CMA-CGM

Hello Gents;
did anybody applied and received any kind of confirmation or even invitation to an assessment from this supposed new air-freight company based out of CDG?
They posted a month ago searching for B777F crews.
Have a nice day:ok:

SWBKCB 30th September 2021 12:07

They've been operating A.332's out of Liege since March, operated by Air Belgium. Just ordered 2 new B.777F's.

Banana Joe 30th September 2021 12:10

The 777 won't be operated by Air Belgium. It will be a new company in France.

SaulGoodman 2nd October 2021 08:46

Will they start their own AOC? Or are they going to use the same model as with Air Belgium?

Any details on the psychometric evalutation / Theoretical knowledge / Sim profile available? Is the sim done on B777 or B737? there's not a lot to go on. TIA

mark_one 2nd November 2021 05:31

Nobody have any info on the sim assessment / tech quiz? Anyone from Air Belgium flying the A330F for Cma cgm want to comment?

Carbo 2nd November 2021 15:58

60’ assessment on AF B777 SIM in Roissy. Tech quiz is 20 questions on B777 systems and 10 general aviation knowledge. One aircraft arrives in March and one in April. Unfortunately it’s low cost salaries comparable to French bee.

bongo bongo 2nd November 2021 22:50

only french speakers?

mark_one 3rd November 2021 05:12

@carbo, thanks for the update.

Yes they want the equivalent of a level 4 in French. No ZED tickets, no LOL.

Are there rosters you would say no to?

i. e. ...
Is it 20ON / 10OFF ?
Random "Bullet" rotations? ( 4ON (ATL) / 3OFF .... 3ON (ORD/JFK) / 2OFF .... )
Tours? (18 days around the house.... CDG-IST-DXB-DEL-PVG-ANC-ORD-CDG)

Rosters ( = lifestyle) with cargo operators can massively vary from one company to the other.... (Usually lots of positioning involved, long layovers, long time away from home, etc etc...). It's not everyone's cup of tea. Roster are, more than any other type of flying, a very relevant point when you decide (or not) to join such airlines.

Banana Joe 6th December 2021 09:55

I agree. I currently fly for a cargo operator on a random roster and I'd be willing to take a pay cut to have a fixed roster.

eiffel 6th December 2021 11:57

The poition is based in CDG but will it be possible to commute (from within Europe) ? Have they mentionned it during interviews?

rocky 3 24th May 2022 10:24

I am looking for the same info. I have an interview ans test booked for mid june 22

rocky 3 24th May 2022 10:54

Hi guys,

Any news about T&C's ? They are looking for Airbus rated pilot (320 330 340 380).

Regards,
FBE

materazzi 22nd July 2022 19:44

Any feedback for those who got interviewed (Terms and conditions )

captain.weird 16th August 2022 11:56

Someone got any info regarding the rosters with these guys?

Griego 16th November 2022 14:20

Hi, the technical test depends on the type you apply for and the plane you are rated on. Be prepared for some very difficult questions (30 if 777). During the interview there are tech questions and memory items plus the normal HR questions ie. which mistake did you make in the past, what don't you like in your current job, why CMA etc.
The pay depends on your experience on type, if not on the hours on jet. 1000hrs per scale , the payscale is on ppjn. After tax and social security there isn't much left.
The company outsourced the planes for 5 years to Air France pilots. So no growth expected on that side.

LimaJuliet 13th August 2023 14:51

Hi,
Is there anyone having inside information about the B777 Rosters?
And any information about the assessment process? what to prepare?
It looks like they are recruiting again.
Thanks.

Tink789 18th August 2024 08:29

Cheers,

Tink

Boeiger 18th August 2024 09:31

Hey,

Any news or feedback on this one? Did anyone receive any sort of briefing pack or so?

Cheers

Toerist 18th August 2024 11:22

I did the assessment in June. They are quite friendly and want you to pass. They are getting desperate for pilots.
Day 1 consists of
-Multiple choice questionnaire (25 questions) on your current aircraft and general knowlegde. Mainly perfo, meteo, principles of flight. Not the easiest questions in my humble opinion.
-HR interview. Classic questions, not designed to trip you up.
-Technical interview. Friendly chat with management pilot. I had to explain the fuel system of my current aircraft and some questions about fuel planning etc.
They call you in the evening about the result.

Day 2 is sim assessment. Mine was on the B767. Seems to be whatever type is available. Profile is in NCE/LFMN. Take-off from 04R or L. Soon return after some kind of problem (nothing technical). Raw data ILS (careful ILS on 04 is slighly offset) Go-around. Engine failure during go-around. Single engine landing (with FD). Expect about 45min as PF, 45 as PM. They don't really look at how you fly the 767. Looking for basic skills, CRM, briefing, teamwork. The usual.

About 1-2 weeks later you get the result. I passed and was offered a contract but decided on another company.

Good luck!

Boeiger 19th August 2024 12:13

Hello, thank you for your feedback!

Do you know if they hired only French speaking pilots? And were all the candidates on your day French?

Thank you!

I speak French (not fluent), they never tested me nor asked about my language level. So I don't think it is a requirement. Obviously the majority of crew is French.
