The FedEx plan all along has been to retire their DC-10/MD-10 aircraft as the new 767 Freighters came on-line - eventually even taking over for the MD-11 aircraft.

This is not new. The MD10s and A310-300s were slated to be gone by now anyway but some kept on due lift needs. All the MD10s including the -30s were slated to be gone by 2021. Looks like the -30s maybe around a little longer.

The planes are still coming, the 767 is going ETOPS and the company is adding 35/month classes through next year and despite the doom and gloom report we still made a ton of money. Once TNT is fully integrated and the China trade problems are solved FedEx is again be in the catbird seat. Any airline that can generate a 7% margin would be giddy with relief but here at FedEx it is panic time.

My statement was meant to be in the positive not negative. The 767 is already operating ETOPS:ok:

35/month. How quickly things change.
