Air Cargo Carriers
 
Anyone here work or worked in the past with this Company? Any insights?

Good company, BUT.

It'll bore the pants off of you flying the same route every Monday night thru Saturday morning, every single week.
Don't forget too, you'll be with the same person, in the same plane.

If you do the feeder routes to outstation hubs like Columbia you get a full nights sleep.
If you fly from small cities to main hubs like Louisville or Cincinnati you'll get just a few hours nap at night.
The San Juan base is all daytime flying. But it's all of the day.

The only way I'd do it, was if if I was working on doing something else at the same time.
Like getting a college degree on-line as you have all day off.

You don't need a PIC ATP to be Captain, just a Pt 135 letter which can be done on a Comm/Inst/Multi and 1200 hours.
F/Os required a Comm/Inst/Multi and a pulse.

But I see your ex Piedmont and are 65 year old and living in the Bahamas.
After six months it's just another job.
They all suck.

I take it, there must be a new trip planned by ACC from Nassau to West Palm Beach that your thinking of doing?
Are you sure this is how you want to spend your retirement years?

ACC has a thru flow system, where after five years you move on the Omni Air B-777 F/O.
But I don't think I could spend five years in a Shorts Shoebox.
I think ACC have just one SD-330 now, and that won't be around much longer.

Skyways out of Kissimmee FL also operates SD-360s.
They are still in their American Eagle operated by Simmons paint scheme with N---MQ registration numbers which stands for Marquette Michigan where Simmons were based.

Don't live in Nassau anymore. Would like to keep flying a little longer. Some are ready to retire at 65 while others are not. You say flying the Shorts is boring, I say retirement can be boring. My tennis game will never improve, only so many home projects, and as for recreational travel - I hate long lines, big busy airports and coach seats.

I would say the best Air Cargo Carrier run would be either Savannah GA or Myrtle Beech SC to Columbia SC. Two cities I'd be quite happy living in.

What I don't think you want at ACC is to be based in Danville IL or Charleston WV and fly to Louisville and back every night. That would get old, real quick.

But the beauty of ACC is you may be able to fast track your career.
As I said earlier, you should be flying whilst doing your degree, not playing beer pong in college.
You may be able to bypass the regional carriers and go straight to the Frontiers, Allegiants or Spirits of the world.

ACC is a far better carrier than Skyways.
I watch the F/O on a Skyways Shorts dump 2 quarts of oil into the right engine of his plane every day for a 30 minute flight.
I think Skyways got problems..
