Saudia Cargo

Who is doing ACMI for SV cargo?

flite idol 15th December 2010 01:43

Air Atlanta? (Icelandic)

mutt 15th December 2010 07:26

Yikes, I thought that "Saudia Cargo" was the new brand name for Air Atlanta :):)

AA appear to have more aircraft operating in SV Cargo colours than Saudi Arabian Airlines, who are also providing ACMI services. There is also a Turkish registered A310.

Thanks for the info...

Yep, N491EV showed up.

Sidman are you talking about the complete route structure, or just the structure for the EV 747?

Mutt

Apologies for the tailnumber confusion :O:O

superspotter 3rd January 2011 13:32

N471EV is not a 400F though, in fact it is one of the oldest 200's around!

CR2 3rd January 2011 15:10

SSpotter is right... :D Must be pushing 150K hours by now...

Zoner 3rd January 2011 15:28

N491EV is flying SV and those are the stations we're flying.
N471EV is still flying the line but is getting long in the tooth, probably will be one of the next bunch to retire.

sidman 3rd January 2011 17:25

That is just what N491EV is doing. It looks pretty good should get the SV decals on the plane by the end of the month.

superspotter 3rd January 2011 19:17

Why have SV elected for an Evergreen machine? AAI not able to find an extra frame?

411A 3rd January 2011 21:10

Less expensive, and perhaps...much better service.
AAI is but a shadow of its former self.

Angel`s Playmate 4th January 2011 06:57

Yep,

471 EV going strong 38 years now..:ok: Del: April 1973 to World Airways

491 EV is a 412F , ex SIA Cargo

Happy ldgs in 2011 :)

Why are you always so bitter in your responses about Atlas?

Lets see now:

50 new Captain upgrades announced last month.
Hiring at a level from 1999
New airframes on order.
Passenger service in full operation and plans for more
Boeing LCF contract

Stock prices of the big ones as of yesterdays close:

AMR 8.10
UAL 25.50
DAL 12.50
UPS 72.80
FDX 93.10
AAWW 54.00

Does not look so bad to me! But what do I know, I've only been here 13 years.

Keep up the bad attitude, it serves you well.

sidman 5th January 2011 14:03

I think 411A was talking about Air Atlanta Icelandic.

tft 5th January 2011 14:18

411A

For 411A :ugh: ,he will most likely shoot it down,facts are not an issue for him.
Atlanta has been unable to secure more 744 for Saudia.
Last year has been the most successful year in 20 year relationship between Saudia and Atlanta,up to 15 747 flying for Saudia,most likely half of them 744.
Hadj was a massive success.
Both companies plan to strengthen the relationship this year :D

have a good day

mutt 5th January 2011 14:32

strengthen the relationship
Strangely enough, it wasn't that long ago when AAI refused to do business with SVA........

Amazing how times change :)

Fr8Dog........ you should know 411A behavior at this stage.....

come on Mutt :=
Happy New Year & safe trips!

@Fr8dog
411A still can't get around that he was fired after he almost burnt down an AAI Tristar :}

411A 6th January 2011 00:31

....after he almost burnt down an AAI Tristar

Inept codhead AAI mechanics who failed to show up as scheduled did the dirty deed.
Nothing much has changed I expect.
No surprise there....:}

judge.oversteer 6th January 2011 02:29

Tft is correct, AAI has had a very good year.
Maybe watch this space.

AAI

stop the debate about AAI NAC which is National Airlines Leased AAİ for DoD out of FRA and AAI is not the dependaple as it was once so F... them trust EV for SV OK C U

mutt 7th January 2011 03:44

freeborn, you might be surprised to know that AAI have operated for SVA for about 20 years, and I believe that they were operating about 10 aircraft for them at the end of 2010.............. So they must be doing something right :ok:

As for EV..... it will be an interesting experiment, I wonder if they are ready for the local chaos :}

Mutt

sidman 7th January 2011 05:10

We are here and ready to go just dealing with the local chaos now. We spent 6 years here with a cargo plane (N485EV) in the early 90's it is much different now. Some good but for the most part a slow go. We just want to get started sometime next week.. :)

VS1711 7th January 2011 15:07

Evergreen and the Hajj

I'm sure I remember Evergreen being in Jeddah for the Hajj and Teachers' movements back in '93 and '94 too, flying pax

sunny11410 7th January 2011 23:43

freeborn , it looks that you don't have a clue about the lease deal between AAI and National Airlines :rolleyes: ( which is good :) )
You just make a fool of yourself :ok:

BTW, another 744 ( TF-ALF ) goes into ops for National shortly !

Thank You Sir!!!

Earl 8th January 2011 23:50

Ev

For all of us ex Saudia crew that did fly for Saudia during the mid and late 90"s.
Evergreen gave us all countless numbers of Jump seats from JED to JFK through Brussels so we could get home to our family.

When the Saudia JFK flight did not match up with our ACM and our 6 block days off every month, Evergreen always helped us out with just a phone call, no questions asked.
Good on them for coming back there to Saudia.
Probably not many remember those days but some of us was happy they were there.

KnightRyder 9th January 2011 23:32

Sonny,

TF-ALF will come onto line when out of Heavy Mtc. but another 744 will be removed. All aircraft's to go back to the US upon certification.
There is no log term deal there.

The mismanagement by AAI is nothing new. They have a proven poor track record.

sunny11410 11th January 2011 00:03

@KnightRyder
don't worry, nobody was talking about long term :ok:

BTW, if AAI would be really so bad like some of you think ( or better wish ), they wouldn't be in business anymore ;)

freeborn 11th January 2011 10:12

evergreen

sidman 11th January 2011 14:37
