Boeing 707 N711UT/9Q-CRY
Does anyone have any details on the operation of the above aircraft during the late 1970s and early 1980s?
She was fitted out as a freighter but about 1975, though with no main-deck cargo door. Think she might have been a gun-runner at one stage. Also reported as damaging some of Lulsgate's lights and fence on t/o in 1980? Probably used on freight flights out of UAE but I have not a lot more. Any info would be much appreciated! Ta |
As with other ladies of this type and age she has had an interesting career. After life with Pan Am as N723PA and JAT as YU-AGA she appears to have used 9Q-CRY and TC-JCF, both of which were allocated to other airframes. 9Q-CRY was a Lockheed L188 and TC-JCF was a 707 of Bosphorus Air Transport/Turkish Air Cargo
Still looking around for the incident at Lulsgate which was reported in Flight International at the time. |
