N355mc

Does anybody have any info on this aircraft? I see on Speednews it's listed for sale. However it seems each 747 ACMI company says they bought it. I heard a rumor Tradewinds bought it then I heard Focus is getting it.

Fr8Dog 23rd September 2006 16:22

355 MC is sitting in Miami in Focus colors, guess that says it all. Lets see how many more airplanes Atlas can sell to the competition.

Do you mean 354? :):)

Fr8Dog 23rd September 2006 16:42

Nope! That is the one they have had for a while, 355 was sitting at Aero Thrust next to the MIA training center 2 weeks ago all painted up and shiny.

Fr8Dog
According to the FAA N reg site N354MC soon to be registered as 354FC and is owned by OMEGA AIR HOLDINGS LLC of Fort Lauderdale.
355MC is still owned by Atlas :ok:

Fr8Dog 23rd September 2006 16:52

Go down and look at the friggin airport. Why should I argue with guys that already know everything. You are like my kid, knows everything just ask him!

Heilhaavir 23rd September 2006 17:01

Maybe you don't give enough credit to your kid :O

Roadtrip 23rd September 2006 17:51

Atlas is getting out of the Classic business. The economics of the -200s are rapidly approaching the edge. Atlas probably wants to get some money for the ones they own before they become beercans.

Po Boy 23rd September 2006 17:53

Focus has N354MC not N355MC

FR8Dog,

I think you're wrong my friend, see the !!!!!!!!!!!!!! link below. I can email you a picture of N354MC that Focus is operating, I took the picture myself in MIA. N355MC was returned to Atlas after AAWW decided to retire Polar's classic freighter fleet , and the aircraft is now for sale. I actually saw N355MC sitting in HSV a little over a month ago, undergoing maintenance.

rotorblades 23rd September 2006 18:06

In august this year 355MC was stored at JFK, having seen service with atlas air, most recently, & previously a VARIG machine since 1985 (year of manufacture 1985/line no 629/series -341F SCD)

acmi48 23rd September 2006 18:26

Your right and wrong. 354 belongs to Focus, has been flying SHZ - LUX for a year now for China Eastern. I don't think it has ever been to Miami under Focus colors. Every scumbag wants 355, but Atlas wants too much money for it. Rumour is tradewinds got it with their insurance money they got from the last 747 they trashed.... A damn shame.

Fr8Dog 24th September 2006 00:37

Not exactly sure why I am bothering to post again, (must be bored) I saw N355MC @ MIA last week freshly painted in Focus colors. Not sure what else to tell all you experts other that N# databases and !!!!!!!!!!!!!! do not update daily. Seeing that I used to fly the A/C I think I should be able to tell. Ciao :E

Listen FR8, I don't know what you're smoking but we haven't used 354 in MIA at all for months and have no intent to fly it there for the moment.

Focus had 3 acft in MIA. 361,362 and 535 all summer. But 354 has been wet leased to China Eastern for almost a year now.

Thats all I'm going to say about it. I feel like I'm arguing with a spoiled child.:ugh:

For months is not the same as never been in MIA in Focus colors. Bang your head a little more.

One last time FR8butt, 354 has not :D been in MIA for months in FOCUS COLORS. Dutch is correct, it's been flying on a Europe-Asia contract.

Check your facts (or eyesight) before you mouth off absurdities.

^^^I said "I don't think 354 has ever been to Miami". Another words, 354 has never been in Miami. And 355 is not...yet, wearing Focus colors. What you saw, was 535. END OF STORY!

Go see a doctor.:suspect:

Fr8Dog 24th September 2006 19:04

Dutch74 You   You are not worth the time.:ok:

Dutch74 24th September 2006 19:52

I would just like to say a heart felt "THANK YOU" to C5AFE for asking such a "contraversial question"!

Wow sorry I caused such a huge mess. I just heard someone say Tradewinds had bought the airplane the other day. I thought someone on here would know if it's true. Wow I need to just learn to not ask questions here. LOL:D

nitro rig driver 25th September 2006 09:11

and to think its a professional pilots forum

evidence is all above i see

Po Boy 25th September 2006 13:34

Enough already!

Why is this thread getting out of control, with all the name calling?

I have seen 361, 362 and 535 making the rounds in MIA, have not seen 354MC there in a long while. As for N355MC, I contacted my buddy at Focus, who is in Flight Ops and asked him about N355MC, he replied to me via email this morning, see below: (the names have been deleted, but the text is his words)

XXXX:

As far as I know, we do not own 355. The guy who is saying that he's seen it
in our colors needs to have his eyes examined. Or maybe he's just saying
all of this to get you guys stirred up.

XXXX

Sleeping Freight Dog 27th September 2006 01:22

The solution sounds simple to me. If the aircraft is still parked at MIA,
take a picture of it with the reggo clearly defined. That will solve any
problems

yellowdog 1st October 2006 00:13

IMHO isn't 355 a -300 and 535 a -200. Surely as professional pilots you can tell the difference. Even I as lowly CC can do that!:E

As of October 9th, 2006 N355MC still on Atlas Air Ops Specs and sitting at Roswell.

Title: 355MC

Item Number: 3463

Updated: 10/23/2006 3:50:00 PM

Question: What is the status of 355, sold, parked?

Response: 355 is not being operated and remains for sale.

My apologies, I guess I better get to the eye doctor and get my prescription checked.

ship's power 4th December 2006 16:12

N355MC Now back on the Atlas books and also now flying Atlas AMC charters.

Dutch74 4th December 2006 22:14

Word...

I just interviewed with a Company who wants to buy more Classics but despite their efforts, they told me there are very few (Classic 747's) on the market. No surprise that Atlas is using 355 now.

whaledriver101 4th December 2006 22:31

Your ALL wrong !!!! Didnt you see it attached to the last shuttle during the launch???? I vote that its parked at the lunar space station.:8

Whale Driver,

You're right, that flight operated more than a year ago, Fr8Dog is posting old news. I just checked our flight schedules and N355MC is no where to be found!

Atlas, at this time is not operating this aircraft!

layinlow 5th December 2006 20:03

Just talked to a friend of mine who is an un-fired FE at Polar. He said the chief pilot mentioned two classics coming back to Polar. May that is it. I can think of a lot of airplanes to get rid of and a -300 isn't one ofthem. It probably still belongs to Atlas.
