Yes the Belfast is in Cairns, along with 2 100 series B727s. The Belfast does not get a lot of work, though a lot of work always seems to be done on it. The B727 gets a lot more. They do runs up to PNG and the Soloman Islands. They still operate under the heavylift name and colours using an Australian AOC , though the aircraft are registered in Sierra Leone. I am based in Cairns (ATC and flying) so PM if you need more info,

My understanding is that Heavylift are a Sierra Leone operator and operate under a Sierra Leone AOC. The Australian AOC seems more akin to DfT permit in the UK. As you will see it only covers flights to or from Australian airports and is only valid so long as Heavylift continues to be authorised to conduct air transport operations by the Department of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Our SEN Belfast now has two engines fitted and good progress has been made on the two outer units.

I read that the French are breaking up their Navy Atlantics. Are they the same Tynes' as the Belfast? If so is it worth a phone call!???

Looks the same. But with the strong Franco German alliance in Europe engines may end up at the German Air Force door first :D

The belfast in SEN is G-BEPS. I saw her last, this year in April and it was still parked at the end of the disused runway next to EL-AKJ (wonder why that Boeing is not yet scrapped actually). Well any updates on work on G-BEPS would be much appeciated.

BEPS now has three engines fitted an the forth is zero houred sitting in its box inside the aircraft.

Is this nearly the end of the ressurection??

Its nice to read about the engines being fitted but what about the electrics, that thing was always a nightmare.

I was informed by an ATCO this week that looked around the a/c internally that everthing is replaced or functional and the beast is not far off engine runs.

Was near NEMA yesterday and could have sworn I saw a Belfast climbing out. It was a long way away though, any chance I awas right?

In that case from the distance I was I'm quite pleased with myself! I knew it wasnt a Herc.

Had a look around the beast yesterday (exterior) and would suggest that there is a considerable amount of work still to do and it is certainly a long haul task.

Heard from Barry Fane that one of the two ex-HLA pilots (DD) is back in this country trying to get a job as a GE (he is licensed). So who is flying ex-GHLFT now??is

:* Now heard that the Belfast Cand D check at PIK is no more. Polar in dispute over who has paid for Belfast work. Hope this isn't the end,; it doesn't look good.
