MK DC-8 impounded?
 

I was just going to ask what the story is with the MK DC-8 in Lusaka, Zambia when I heard about the 742 in Halifax.

Very sad news

I still remember Port Harcourt 3 years ago.

According to my lady in LUN 9G-MKE was ferried to Harare Zimbabwe 12th October 2004, then Bristol UK 14th October 2004 via Tripoli for maintenance check.As far as I am aware at no time was the aircraft impounded by any authority.

Apparently the STG II noise restrictions into Europe and UK made it impossible to use on nortbounds so it came to Lusaka with a view to regional cargo operations. Hopefully there is something more lively for the old beauty wherever she is off to next as Lusaka was obviously fairly quiet for her in the end.
