Heavyweight single piece into 747F?
Just a quick question, I think CR2 have an answer for it... Would CV or SQ accept a single piece which is 11.0x1.8x1.8 meters @ 23 tones for carriage on their 747 freighter? Does it need special loading equipment?
|
No problem! About half the max weight I've done.
Get a hold of a technical drawing for the machine first, in order to determine the spreading/tie-down points. Dunno what SQ do, though we refuse anything in a box/crate thats heavier than 12T. Probably need a crane for palletizing. Bolt two 20ft pallets together on the highloaders, add spreading, lift piece onto pallets, drive into a/c. Piece of p*55 email me if you need more |
CR2, many thnx for info!
|
SQC will not accept single cargo load more than 25t
(according to w&b manual), and as said, proper spreading/tiedown is required |
As CR2 says, piece of P155.
Only restriction you will have is the Airports you use, as some have weight restrictions on the Maindeck loaders they use... |
Good point Clown....
Its embarrassing when one flies a large lump half-way around the world, only to find that once you get there, you can't offload it. Mangagement don't like that. As for SQ not accepting heavier than 25T, good news. Their loss, our gain. Max we've done at CLX is 42T, gave me a few sleepless nights, but all went well. |
any ideas if maindeck loaders at SIN are strong enough? :)
|
SATS have 7 x 27000KG highloaders, so you should be ok.
|
Put it on a AN22 or 124!!!
VEEPS:) |
I should moderate that Veeps, scandalous statement! ;)
|
Another small point if you couple 2 pallets together particularly fore and aft then as well as spreaders you will need additional restraint fore and aft as the forward pallets lock 9g load may be insufficient.;)

Yes Buster, I was refering to that :ooh:
:\ |
I could go on...:E...but I may come looking for a job again & it just wouldn't help now would it?:O

VP8
An22/124 are too expensive for such kind of stuff... Alternatively it could be flown on IL76 to one of Malaysian airports nearby SIN but it is still expensive too... |
Traffic rights & non objections folks !!!..!!
If its loadable in B74F of either countries' freighter aircraft or thise with bilaterals (open skies exception) AND the aircraft is available - the likes of your Russian types aint gonna get the traffic rights..... |
BRISTOLRE
Not in particular case Europe-SIN. It is easy to get traffic rights for a single charter flight for any operator. However your point is very valid for Russia or China. |
