Info about DHL & TNT wanted
 

Hi folks

I just searched this forum about informations about DHL and TNT but I couldnt really find what I was looking for.

I was looking for following:

- what are the minimum requirements to apply at DHL and where can I find a person/website/tel to contact the responsible person?

- does DHL has crews based outside Brusseles? Maybe in CGN or elsewhere?

- does TNT operate 737F out of Liege? Is the 737 duty plan different to the Avros?

I couldnt also find these informations in the internet

Yes they fly one 737-300F out of Liege.

Sorry I can only answer one of your questions, but hopefully other people can take care of the rest.

DHL has 2 airlines in Europe,EAT in Brussels(only base) and DHL Air ltd. in East midlands(only base)

The HR person at DHL Air, East Midlands Airport, is Ginny Hambly. She can tell you whether DHL are going to be taking on pilots. Sometimes, they sponsor people without 757 ratings. With your hours, you might do very well with them.
There is the possibliity of being based in BRU, too, if that is what you want. Theoretically, DHL Air's base is EMA but they are quite amenable to Brussels, because most of the work originates there.
New rosters will be 8 and 6 (or 9 and 5 as necessary). This will mean less flexibility but more time off in blocks of days. Depends what lifestyle you want.

TNT have 2 737s just now they have either 5 or 10 on order depending which trade magazine you read. Based liege so pay belgian tax. The latest rumor is they are getting at least one QC 737 to run pax ops at the weekend.

As for DHL Air it will take till the end of 2004 to get a good impression of how the new scheduling system will work. It could be great, it could go badly we will just have to wait and see.

As far as I know the 737's flying for TNT @ LGG are TF registered belonging to Bluebird Cargo who are an Icelandic Cargo Charter Company

DHL Air:

757's ex EMA... great machines, great blokes, great fun and not badly rewarded.

I just left because I was offered a really modern type at my home airport for a good operator. However, I would have stayed otherwise. The company is pretty good and it seems as safe as houses.

DHL? Not the best, but far from the worst.......

The two 737's currently flying for TNT are OO-TNA and -TNB.

The pax ops will be from Brussels with a leased pax version.

TNT do indeed lease Bluebird Cargo aircraft and have hired in Icelandair B733F also for a long term in the past for the LGG-ATH-LGG route.
TNT will continue to lease in third parties until they have a suitably large enough fleet of 73s of their own.

And whats all this about a pax operation??
Its not core cargo/courier/freight business, are you saying TNT or DHL are interested/proposed pax startup

TNT Airways (TAY) will be operating a pax 737 from Brussels this summer to the typical med holiday destinations. This will be flown by a leased 737 (one of the icelandic lot if memory serves) but I couldn't say about FD crewing (CC are TNT provided).

Yes its not core business but after the recent bankruptcies in Belgium the major holiday companies need capacity on the sunshine routes and TNT has an established AOC and already operates the 737 in freight config.

Although not noted TNT has the option to convert future 737 conversions from Pure freight to Quick change. Greater utilization lower overheads spreading the cost and all those good things....
