loadmaster/ flight engineer
 

Hi there,

I'm currently working flight ops control for a small carrier in EU and will soon be moving to nav services/performance dept in the summer. I'm interested in extending my knowledge of load control and some of the more technical aspects of the operation by undertaking the FAA F/E test prep. My question is this..is there anywhere where I might undertake a load master course or even the FAA F/E practical course. I dont wanna stay on the ground for ever and would like to start flying at some point as either F/E or Loadmaster. Anybody got any advice or info..or can point me in the right direction..any info gretaly appreciated.

Templar, sorry to be negative but both professions, F/E and loadmaster, are dying. Many type rated, experienced F/Es and loadmasters are looking for work; I think you would be wasting your money and time, going down that road.

Best way to do some LM flying is to get into the load control dept. of a major freight airline. Most places these boys fly can do their own loadsheets, but occasionally, a charter pops up & it's easier to send someone from load control on the flight.
