Another A330F?

Hi Chaps

Flightradar seems to show that another A330F (EI-HEE) has joined the ASL Ireland fleet from EAT. Any of the ASL guys able to confirm whether this is the fourth plane of the wet lease op for AHK?

EAM 26th May 2020 10:25

Yes that is correct, D-ALMC has been moved from EAT to be operated by ASL since March.

Sirac82 26th May 2020 10:41

Thanks for confirming EAM.

Any idea when AHK will move over the last two planes to their own AOC and wrap up the ASL operation?

What about MSN 777? Its in Dresden seemingly for conversion for ASL Ireland . Currently M-BLGR and theres another one somewhere sitting around I believe.

How many A330 does currently EAT have? I heard they are still expecting a couple of A300's.

I have no clue if it all goes to AHK, stays with ASL or what the plan is.

As far as I know, the issue with the A330 in Dresden (i guess MSN 777) is that there are no engines available for it.
EAT currently operates 3 A330F and I guess they are getting more A300s if they can find them.

wheelbarrow Cargofacts has just reported that MSN 777 has been re-delivered.

Unsure where the other plane that was recently delivered in March fits into the scheme of things..

Sirac82 28th May 2020 11:33

Extract from Cargofacts:

"Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) has completed the conversion of its fourth A330-300F (777, ex-China Eastern Airlines) and redelivered the aircraft to DHL Express [FAT 005434]. This is the first high-gross-weight conversion and delivers an upward revision to the maximum gross payload for the A330-300P2F."

Arriving in MLA for paint

I believe they should also be getting D-AAED MSN 1124. I don't know if this will be going to ASL or EAT.
I'm not sure if it's already in EFW or if it's still in storage in CHR.

EIHEE (1032 ex DALMC) seemingly replaced EIHEB in HKG, which came back to Europe and has been stuck to LEJ-AMS ever since.
777 MBLGR was transferred to Malta for paint recently as above
781 MBELR is in Dresden since Jul19 so should be next out?
Also 1124 DAAED arrived in Dresden in Mar20 for conversion

777 now registered B-LDR for Air Hong Kong.
Presumably will replace an ASL frame over there?

Will be interesting to see whether the Cathay Pacific bail out by the Hong Kong government affects the ASL/Air HK wet lease op at all (Air HK being wholly owned by Cathay)...

I doubt that since it is DHL that is making those decisions
