World record 747 load.

https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&r...48705608,d.dGI

Heaviest single piece of cargo ever carried by a commercial 747.

2nd heaviest of any 747 operation space shuttle being number 1.

World record 747 load.

It's still not quite the load that an An-124 can take though, is it...

jocko2000 10th Jul 2013 01:44

Really?

What kind of inadequacies do you have in life that your reply is something like that? I would hate to know you in the real world as it would take all my effort not to hate you. "uh, not the load that the such and such, blah blah blah..."

Wow.

Hold on, here are your three periods so you feel better...

You're cool!!!

VP8 13th Jul 2013 09:51

Dash

Even your statement is wrong try the AN225 at 250tonnes:rolleyes:

Nice one for the 747 though:ok:

No Fly Zone 13th Jul 2013 21:14

Check out the video in the original post. I don't know where this was filmed, but I count ONE hard hat in the lot of them. Dumb, to say the least.

As the the original question, just because as 747 CAN, does not mean that it SHOULD. Ty-raps for cargo restraints anyone?

Heathrow Cargo 14th Jul 2013 20:11

No Fly...was this an attempt at humour??

Indeed - we chucked a 108T Power Station Generator Rotor Shaft onto a 124 a few days ago - was interesting trying to get it through the Security Airlock to get it out to the aircraft....

... hmmm,
and while we're about it, a quick advisory for jocko2000

see an analyst, QUICK.

Its quite some time since I've seen such a bizarre and laughable over-reaction to something which in REALITY was pretty tame.

Tell your analyst that you said:

" I would hate to know you in the real world as it would take all my effort not to hate you. "uh, not the load that the such and such, blah blah blah..."

You have issues, fellah.

galaxy flyer 14th Jul 2013 22:55

Burnie,

I can beat that--111T in a single unit, classified USN load plus the Kenworth tractor. Lockheed C-5.

World record 747 load.

I didn't want to include the Mriya as she's one-off and not a production-line machine!

And Jocko2000, boy am I glad we don't know each other, although I think I'd happily pay for your therapist. Tell me about your mother...

doublestory 16th Jul 2013 13:36

Oups

I hope they remembered to organise 3 loaders at the destination

747-8F World Record

I filmed this video at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (north freight ramp) on July 5, 2013. The cargo was well within operating limits for the aircraft and posed no danger. 747-8Fs can safely take off much heavier than this, as the cargo only set the record for the heaviest single piece carried, not the record for heaviest takeoff. Departure was normal and smooth and the cargo was delivered to the destination safely and one time.

Ant 23rd Jul 2013 19:00

A big thank you for sharing this fascinating video with us.
As an aside, I'm interested to know how to achieve the 'time lapse' video effect which was so useful in the video.

AstroN8 24th Jul 2013 13:00

747-8F World Record

Ant - It was actually pretty easy. I filmed it at regular speed (30 FPS) and sped it up in Adobe Premiere to 5000% speed. All you have to do is set the speed/duration settings. Glad you enjoyed it!

SMOC 25th Jul 2013 06:33

What was the length of it? Did it require the exta length of the -8F or would it have fit in a -400F?

Cheers.

Andy Mayes 26th Jul 2013 09:51

Exactly what was the cargo?

I agree.

It's not as if someone said...

"That video looks like Jocko2000's open mouth taking a big c@<#" or anything derogatory which would possibly have merited his initial reply.

:)

If you watch closely at the extreme right where the view of the fuselage meets the car fender, you can see the plane squat as the load goes in.

It goes down by quite a bit at the nose, it seems like the loaders (especially the one nearest the nose) have to be adjusted up and down to match. is that why the movement into the aircraft stops every so often?

Wonder what his landing weight was and how far he had to go?
