Check out the video in the original post. I don't know where this was filmed, but I count ONE hard hat in the lot of them. Dumb, to say the least.

I filmed this video at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (north freight ramp) on July 5, 2013. The cargo was well within operating limits for the aircraft and posed no danger. 747-8Fs can safely take off much heavier than this, as the cargo only set the record for the heaviest single piece carried, not the record for heaviest takeoff. Departure was normal and smooth and the cargo was delivered to the destination safely and one time.

A big thank you for sharing this fascinating video with us.
As an aside, I'm interested to know how to achieve the 'time lapse' video effect which was so useful in the video.

Ant - It was actually pretty easy. I filmed it at regular speed (30 FPS) and sped it up in Adobe Premiere to 5000% speed. All you have to do is set the speed/duration settings. Glad you enjoyed it!

What was the length of it? Did it require the exta length of the -8F or would it have fit in a -400F?

If you watch closely at the extreme right where the view of the fuselage meets the car fender, you can see the plane squat as the load goes in.

It goes down by quite a bit at the nose, it seems like the loaders (especially the one nearest the nose) have to be adjusted up and down to match. is that why the movement into the aircraft stops every so often?

Wonder what his landing weight was and how far he had to go?
