In my time with Avient, we made it very clear (as crew).

If we weren't paid, we didn't fly - endex.

Looks like the hand-to-mouth existence still exists, despite the name/company change, which is sad. A lot of the guys I worked with were good people.

I watched on of their jets (Z-BAM) visiting Manston on Feb 18th.

donewaiting 16th Mar 2014 23:07

sad end !

More redundancies, moving staff and pay continues to be an issue.
Hope its just a rocky beginning rather than a slippery slope.

blazingskull 9th Apr 2014 00:00

row, row, row your boat

If your rocky beginning lasts one year, then for sure it's rocky!

Such a shame but I guess the crooks at the handle deliberately sabotaged the ship and let it sink. It's the most convenient way to have somebody else pay for one's debts, and start anew.

donewaiting 20th Apr 2014 22:43

Still going,going,going..

Well, they are still operating from Gatwick and rumour has it they did a runner from Amesbury(leaving debts like when they scuttled from Vatry) but then again they are a small operation and cash flow/paying people seems to be a recurring issue.

blazingskull 19th May 2014 17:32

One year later, the second Belgian branch may be shut down in a matter of days, due to insolvency...

Binthere 20th May 2014 19:45

Shut down again?! I thought I read somewhere they were about to get a 3rd MD11 any day. Why did it turn so bad so quickly?

Dengue_Dude 20th May 2014 20:23

Why did it turn so bad so quickly?
How long have you got? Suggest you plough through this and the various Avient threads.

Avient of course, has absolutely NOTHING to do with AV Cargo.

LMLMLM 29th May 2014 18:07

Last week both MD-11's sat together in Lagos. Spoke to a member of the crew and was told that both of them should have left the previous evening but couldnt as they had no line of credit with the fueling companies.....apparently...
Both refueled around lunchtime and departed and they have since been back into LOS.
I was also told by the same person that they had not been paid in full what was due to them for three months...

Dengue_Dude 29th May 2014 21:22

Not paid, don't fly. Simples

We went through this with that unrelated company Avient . . .

BOMBADIER 2nd Jul 2014 14:03

Avient were angels compared to this bunch of "fly by nights" Still no money available for staff that have been made redundant and current staff not being paid either.

Looks like any spare money goes to sponsoring NG Racing - Strange that there is magic money for that.

blazingskull 3rd Jul 2014 13:01

Heard engineers' pay is 3 month-late. Purely outrageous.
Sick management... They should simply shut it down. Employees could too if they all don't show up.

cargobird 3rd Jul 2014 18:56

Accident waiting to happen !

Problem is that if the airline is so strapped for cash that it cannot pay the staff, what other corners are being cut to keep the aircraft in the air to fly the next charter for desperately needed cash flow.

If this was a European airline it would have been shut down months ago. The Zimbabwe CAA can have little or no safety oversight of a carrier that has operated to Harare once in the last year, can it?

How SAFA can let these Zim registered aircraft continue to operate into European Airspace and be based in Belgium is laughable.

JammedStab 3rd Jul 2014 20:26

Something good must be happening there. I know someone who just got hired there a couple of months ago.

donewaiting 3rd Jul 2014 22:36

Hiring staff

Well they may well hire staff but they don't look after them.Late or no payment seems to be the norm and some staff have just been given promise after promise.Still running hand to mouth.

fergineer 3rd Jul 2014 23:24

Think I will stay at home rather than give them the satisfaction of getting something for nothing.

Dengue_Dude 4th Jul 2014 12:48

Judging by the reported behaviour of this company and the totally unrelated company Avient, that might be a great decision Fergi.

lovetoad 6th Jul 2014 07:09

As far as hiring new staff goes, maybe they need to try to replace the ones that have walked due to the conditions, there are a lot of really good guys working there and don't deserve to be tarnished with the same brush as the senior management.

I just couldn't do it anymore and made the decision to leave even without a new job to go to. Luckily enough, got a new job so made my life a lot easier.

MD11f8GOD 6th Jul 2014 20:01

The same guys screwed over the crews when they were Avient.... History will repeat itself again with this bunch of D-BAGS!
