Cargo Tramps

Have embarked upon the mammoth task for compiling the definite history of those who can claim to be a Cargo Tramp. Such a record, we think, has not been attempted before and will cover the Berlin Airlift, through the 50's when small independent regional airlines such as BKS formed and grew, owing much to the demands of the military. Then the emergence those lines who used the Douglas family of piston-engined aircraft through to those using the Lockheed Constellation. Then the 60's and 70's with such operators as Flying Tigers.
Regional outfits will not be forgotten, nor those in remote areas such as Rhodesia, South America, the Far East. We want to concentrate on the bizarre wherever possible-the loads-the destinations but above all YOU, the cargo tramps !

Could you simplify the description? Doubt you'll find many L/Ms from the Berlin airlift. I can tell you boring 747F stories.... 20+ years worth. Including Zim... but I doubt they're worth a book....

Harare: not too bad handling but terminal windows have been broken for years. The Sheraton looks like a hovel. I survived Air Zim hop to JNB...
