So, as I understand it, ref. latest memo, as an ACL employee your reward will be, join DHL Air yUK! for the following:
Be bonded (again) for three years on a ''different' agreement, with NO prospects for career development, but all this .... only if your face fits! What about my existing contract??? And why should I have to pay for a 'new licence' to enjoy the priveleges of continuing employment for such austere future management? Still employed, and grateful- YES- but for crying out loud! Why kick the &rse out of many guys (and gals) good service, and loyalty? Yours wondering::mad:  |
Threestable
Be of good cheer: DHL Air is OK and you will love the aeroplane. We are a friendly bunch, too! ACL have to get rid of their much loved 727s and the bosses wanted to do right by you chaps, which is why you are coming across to us. |
Hey threestable,
RELAX! Why no prospects for career development? How many aircraft are they getting. And who says you are going to have to pay for the license? If we all want to make it work, it will. Personally, I'm looking forward to it. If the hat fits, wear it. |
Cat 1 I agree.
Threestable see how it goes,757/767 in your licence least you'll have a good type rating to move on should you want to... Grass is always green. I agree with you about your existing contract though, from what i've seen the big picture has not been thought out. Good example would be the proposal of a new MD only weeks after the AOC approved at DHL Air... |
I am looking forward to the new job, new type, .... the thing that really gets my goat is the way the transfer of crews is being handled. No news, bad news, half truths, management turnarounds, on both sides has lead to a 'them and us' mentality.
Leaves one feeling a bit kicked in the teeth! Do not forget that at the outset, the DHL UK 'senior pilot' who stated '...no ACL crews will be hired'. Not a rumour, I heard it! OK that has obviously been rescinded, but he should be fun company on a Bari weekend!! We are professionals, and in time it will all sort itself out no doubt, I just needed to vent my spleen, and it felt gooood!! ;) Oh and reference licence payments, must have misread it, and can only blame the red veil I was looking through at the time..... Apologies.:( |
Great News
Yes gentlemen, we at ACL are really looking forward to working with and bringing a high level of experience and utmost proffessionalism to dhlair UK.
we understand that freight and nightwork is new to most if not all of the present dhlair 757 aircrew, lads dont be shy, if you need help or some guidelines dont be afraid to approach any of us. We really are a friendly and well-mannered bunch of individuals and we excel in company, especially Bari weekends. Cat1, dont worry about promotion to the left seat as once uve got the skills on the 757, it wont be a problem as ACL crews WILL be keeping their seniority. Neil Armstrong, my guess is uve been selected for the atr42 fleet or is it 72? AS have most of previous atr crews presently with ACL. Also guys we get to retain our present work conditions, i.e. no standbys, no contactables, no need to live anywhere near our proposed bases, same holiday deal etc. Arent we lucky. SIT BACK AND ENJOY.........................TOGA here we come |
If I feel sorry for anyone, it's the ground engineers. They've still no idea what their future is. At least the F/E's know it might be a good idea to look for a job.
