Volga-Dnepr AN124 at Torino rejected takeoff
Incident: Volga-Dnepr A124 at Torino on Sep 9th 2010, rejected takeoff, three engines flamed out
WOW! If true, lucky them it happend at low speed |
To that reporter, "flame out" means he sees flame outside the engine. There is no indication any of the engines had actually flamed out.

Intruder,
you sure about that? Isn't a flame out exactly what it says??!! There wouldn't necessarily have to be flames outside of the engines... |
Look at the picture in the link, and its caption. There are visible "flames" in the exhaust. There is still no direct indication that any of the engines had actually "flamed out" or failed.

Right.......I didn't look at the picture until later.
All things considered, that article was better than your average CNN or BBC expert testimony!! |
