Avient in trouble again

I hear Avient have more problems - this time their second MD11 damaged on the ground in Nairobi.

Is it bad luck or bad ops? Iam starting to think!!!

cargobird 26th Feb 2010 07:49

Understand that the MD11F departed from Nairobi this morning to Frankfurt.

Amazed that a puncture hole repair to the aircraft skin forward of the rear pressure bulkhead can be achieved within 24hrs in Nairobi?

The benefit of flying under a flag of convenience .....?:ugh:

Exup 26th Feb 2010 08:29

If the repair was a standard SRM repair & not to large it could easily be repaired in 24hrs in Nairobi by Kenya Airways who have both the manpower & facilities.

Jeez...

...that could be a long time to be wearing O2 nosebags! :}

The aircraft departed LGG last night and has just this minute arrived back here in LGG at time 14:35 local so one would assume ops normal.

Plenty of excellent maintenance available in NBO, as those who know NBO would know :rolleyes:

Z-BVT Maintenance

Although on Zimbabwian register. Which MRO does the routine schedule checks on this bird, and what maintenance schedule is she on.

Suspect that information is on a need to know basis...and you likely are not on the list.:rolleyes:

I have no doubt the Avient maintenance facility has been thoroughly checked out by the Zim CAA safety oversight team - unless they are still busy compiling the crash report in Shanghai?

Dengue_Dude 6th Feb 2011 15:30

. . . the Zim CAA safety oversight team . . .

That'll be another bag of money then and an opportunity to go shopping in London.
