Turboprop freighter pay scales

Hello All,

I am a turboprop Captain with a European cargo Airline and I am considering relocating for personal reasons and as such I am interested in what other turboprop cargo airlines pay their crew. Obviously I have been able to find out the basic salary from PPJN, but would anyone be able to advise me what the pay increments are each year. In particular I am interested in Air Contractors, Farnair, Westair Sweden and West Atlantic.
I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Well if you are turboprop Captain at age 22, you are with Atlantic already, aren't you?

Hi there,

I was chatting to an Atlantic Crew member today (Westatlantic/I don't think they know what they are yet!) He said that there is NO incremental pay scale with commitment to the company. Unfortunate as I think he likes it there, I think the Electra Captains are averaging 60k ish but ATP topping out around 48K. Hope this helps. I'd be interested to see what other companys are offering their crew.

Cheers

Mas

Atlantic is not worth considering, I've spoken to many of their guys, not happy, no money and no leave. When the market improves they are in trouble.

Ahh not good then, sounds like they need to improve their conditions quickly. I've heard the ATP fleet is still growing, I dont think they can afford to loose crew. Do others have incremental pay scales?

That's standard for Atlantic!

They'll always have a relatively high turnover of staff for all the above reasons. If your mates aren't happy they can always leave . . . . oh hang on, there's no jobs out there! In that case wind your necks in and get on with it as there will always be plenty of folk out there to take their place . . . .

This time last year Atlantic could not find any experienced guys who wanted to work for them. They had several aircraft sitting on the ground with nobody to fly them. Our beloved management pilots were asking us why everyone was leaving. Now the economy has taken a dive normal service has been resumed and they are treating us like dirt. Electra Captains and FO's are paid better but there is more uncertainty on our fleet. When things went slack earlier this year management played the points based redundancy stunt and fired anyone that was not a smelly relative of the DFO or was complied with MEL's. The ATP guys complain about pay, are worked harder and moral is obviously bad. This seems to be where the growth in the company is though. For all pilots there was no inflationary pay increase and our allowances have been frozen i.e pay cut.

I would suggest you don't apply to Atlantic. When the economy gets moving again you will either have to work harder than you've ever worked before to make up for the waves of resignations or pay back the hefty bond, 45k on the Electra! The only people who will be left will be our management pilots who let's face it; are never going to get/hold down jobs elsewhere
