What is a B744BCF worth?

As these are re-lifed pax aircraft I wondered what they are worth. I haven't really got a clue.

The correct answer: It depends.

-Engine type
-Total time on airframe
-Cycles on airframe
-Are the engines included or leased?
-Inspection status ie recent heavy check or due for one?
-Damage history?
-AD compliance coming due or previously performed?

Reading between the lines I would guess the conversion cost is between $30M-$50M USD not including the airframe. Again reading between the lines for a GE powered -400 is around $80M-$110M USD.

Out the door, you should expect between $100M-$130M for a freshly converted -400BCF from Boeing.

FYI...I'm just a Pilot.

Lets say 20-25 mil for an early airframe and about another 15-20 for a Bedek (cheapest) conversion.

Edit: DBW, a brand new 400F costs about 130 once discounts applied.

I seem to recall reading a few years ago that people seeking to purchase a time expired 747-100 for a hostel and fly it to it's last location mentioned they could acquire it for it's then scrap value of US$5 million.

Still a fair bit of money. I guess the value is in the parts which could be reused and sold to airlines still operating the aircraft.

Here's a pax 744 on the market now for $27m so it's around that plus conversion cost

Generally speaking -400BCF is $45 to $55m, based on early models.

Thanks guys, I understand SIN sold their old P & W -400's for 10-15 mil USD. Apparently once the approved conversion is complete the a/c is completely zero-timed (except engines) which must put a value on it.:ok:

I think Connie payed around 55-60 mill for his.
