It certainly was and Janes Aviation was originally based at SEN, so they have gone full circle it would seem.

jazzcat2000 25th Mar 2008 20:40

When I first flew the 748 for Andy it was Janes Aviation based at Blackpool. That company was liquidated over the HP Heralds, next was 748 Ltd and then finally Emerald.

Left many years ago but had a great time flying the old budgie.

Say again s l o w l y 26th Mar 2008 00:18

How many times has "Janes Aviation" existed?

Good luck to all those involved, though I have a feeling that more than 6 pilots maybe needed for 6 a/c. Unless they decide to run at even lower than Emerald crewing levels!

Despite my previous comments. I hope this venture lasts.

Germstone 26th Mar 2008 18:55

lots of aircraft movement atAMS BLK.

G-OSOE is looking very complete and I would hazard a guess be the next one to go to AJ:D

Phileas Fogg 27th Mar 2008 00:30

Does anybody, perhaps Fred, have an email address for the new venture please?

PM if necessary.

Thanks

MOB P45 27th Mar 2008 13:04

Trim Up!

Just a note to wish all the guys involved with the new venture a big Good Luck!:D

I would love to fly the Budgie again but would probably scare myself. However, for fun and great colleagues it beats 'watching paint dry' in a B.S.J.

Good Luck JK, FH, NP, BR, MO et al.

Get Anne back in Ops/Admin! - if they get big Ron then Anne will have to change her Pprune handle!

SM82 29th Mar 2008 05:24

Will be good to see Budgies flying round the country again Good luck to all involved.

Is this venture going to be operating scheduled services or just charter?

Say again s l o w l y 29th Mar 2008 10:21

I think Big Ron is too comfy up in the wilds of Scotland to want to move to Sarf End!

MOB P45 29th Mar 2008 16:15

S A S
You could be right but i believe that Ron has family around Merseyside and i wouldn't be surprised if the NW figured prominently in the future plans for the Company. Also AJ seems obsessed with flying to Fraggle Rock.

Expressflight 31st Mar 2008 08:47

I see today that the UK Register shows G-AYIM as being in the process of undergoing a change of ownership.

I had understood that AJ was leasing aircraft for his new SEN operation; does this mean that he is purchasing them I wonder.

Janes Aviation

It has been 2 years since the sad demise of Emerald Airways and a awfully long haul to the advent of its reincarnation as JANES AVIATON but also a great tribute to Andy Janes who has had both the determination , forsight and energy to pursue his goal despite the multitude of negative comments in the interim from a wide range of knockers misinformed and sad . Andy Janes was the first casualty of KPMG cull ,it is a little known fact that they never had the decensy to even to discuss the situation with the very man who had put his money into the company and who supported its expansion over the years very much it has to be said to the benefit of an awful lot of greatful employees , many of whom went on to achieve significant careers in the field of aviation.Emerald was not without its faults but it did not deserve the the final body blow that was polictivecally motivated by the AAIB going over the head of the CAA directlly to the Government,Emerald was positioned directly between a rock and a hard face. The common denominator throughout was the CEO and had he been man enough to accept the CAA offer to stepdown gracefully then the AOC would have been restored to the benefit of many, sadly this did not happen .
Good luck to Janes Aviation, carry the banner with pride for the eternal memory of those who went before.

dada 1st Apr 2008 06:10

quite well said except remember it was andy who entrusted hos company with motormouth mik. no doubt he only told andy what he wanted hin to hear but andy is one of those chaps susceptable to the 'bul**** baffles brains' brigade and will always listen to the one who shouts loudest.

Thankyou for your comments and yes you are ontrack with that as well.

lionel 1st Apr 2008 08:40

lets hope the darts will soon be ROARING again, June possiably?

AVIATOR_2 1st Apr 2008 12:44

I believe you are correct. From what I am told by BLK June is to be the likely month for take off.

From what I am told I am under the impression that MOB will have some involvement with Janes even if he is working and living overseas with his partner.

This thread will always differ on opinion about MOB but I for one am in full favour and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Many of the ex EA clients are also in full support of him given he held excellent customer relationships for many a year and still does to this day.

I cannot see too many ex EA staff joining the relaunch given that it will more than likely require a relocation to SouthEnd where Janes will be based.

Good Luck to AJ and cant wait to hear the budgies in the sky again :ok:

MOB P45 1st Apr 2008 14:58

You cannot be serious!

I share your best wishes for the rebirth of E.A.
I cannot share your your view of MOB.
He maybe should have stuck to selling contracts. If he joins the new venture i hope that is his only role. He was also highly skilled when running Ops.
As a manager he was power-mad, spiteful, small- minded and deaf to any opinion other than his own hare-brained schemes. His removal of anyone half-competent was ultimately his own downfall.
Anyway, i hope history doesn't repeat.:ugh:

AVIATOR_2 1st Apr 2008 15:48

I am only passing on what I was told from the horses mouth from various ex EA customers.

As I said every one has there own opinion and they are more than entitled to it.

You would also be suprised to know that there are many of the ops guys and downstairs guys that would back MOB as a manager.

I hear he is more than happy with work and his missus overseas so lets not create a slanging match 'yet again'. MOB's involvement in Janes will be purely for his knowledge and experience in the business which is no ones business other than AJ's & MOB's.;)

MOB P45 1st Apr 2008 19:45

I agree that MOB can sell and if AJ needs his help on Ops or contracts then i suppose it makes sense to get his opinion.
You're right, i am surprised that anyone would be prepared to work again with him.
Can't comment on customers opinions and accept what you say as a fact.

Ballymoss 1st Apr 2008 22:02

He was also highly skilled when running Ops.

Yep....The MOB was quite a good ops asst way back when. The imbalance came about when the balls had outgrown the brain. A sad but quite common affliction!

Rgds
The Moss:ok:

AVIATOR_2 3rd Apr 2008 20:24

I beg to differ MOB built his experience from the same person I did way back in the early 90's.

When the real report comes out about the dismiss of EA you will all probably change your opinion.

I saw MOB in passing in the UK about 2 weeks ago with his lovely partner arm in arm looking really happy and I never saw him smile like that once whilst at EA due to surrounding pressures. So let sleeping dogs lie as he is only human like the rest of us and there is always more than one side to a story especially to rumours on this site.

Thank you MOB P45 you seem the most reasinable person on this thread with regards to the above.

The main thing is Good Luck to Janes Aviation.

:ok:
