Good luck and don't be shy about using any contacts you have Many thanks for the help and advice. Ian |
You should have no problems proving that you worked at Emerald even though they cannot provide a reference. Simply contact your tax office as they will have a record that you were working at Emerald during the period concerned. They will send you a letter confirming the dates they held records that you were employed by the company and this should suffice to obtain an airside pass as long as everything else is in order.
SR is now head of flight training at Eastern.:suspect: |
I well remember you in Ops , you were most helpful to the aircrew and you deserve every encouragement in achieving your goal, should you require a reference I would be happy to oblige.
|
Hi Ian,
I'm not sure I'm much use at the moment, since I'm out of the flying game currently. Law is a little bit more profitable, you don't need a medical either! Good luck though. |
Many thanks and best wishes all.
Ian Midnight Retired, I have sent private mail to you. |
so, any movement yet on the 748's, and the new venture?
|
The new venture is nearly a reality and should be up and running very shortly. If any of Emeralds ex pilots are stlii without a flying job or would like to fly the 748 again please give me a call.
Fred Holloway |
MMMMM let me think about this
0.0001 seconds later......NO |
I for one would like to wish the best of luck to the new venture. Obviously the Emerald ethos of only spending money when they had to, was at times frustrating, but on the whole I did enjoy the eight and a half years I spent there. I flew with some great guys and loved flying the budgie.
Like many others, I lost out on what should have been a reasonable redundancy payout, and a few months of being very stressed until I found another flying job. I am not bitter as it was business and not personal, I would like to wish all the 748 guys who get involved the very best of luck. |
Germstone, sorry it took you so long to realise that the the invite to apply for a flight crew position was restricted to pilots.

wheres the base?
Hi
Been reading this post now for a while and curious as to where the new outfit is going to be based, and if anybody knows if there are any Ops jobs going??? |
Yes, I'd be interested to know whether the airline will be based in the North West again, or whether the rumours about a Southend base are correct?
Maybe 'corgiboy' could send me a message with some details of Ts&Cs and the flightcrew experience required for DECs? Kind regards SITW :) |
I am told they will be based southend for certain.
Looks like they will be up and running within the next month or two once the final herdles have been jumped. Watch this space as they say. |

S2 is Bangladesh.
Perhaps it is G-BGMO, which is shown on the CAA register as having a possible change of ownership pending. A shame if it's being exported as I had hoped this might be AJ's first aircraft for the new operation. |
Blackpool spotters site confirms it is ex G-BGMO

BGMO to bangladesh
