Emerald Airways - A. Morley

As the last post has just been closed,

References were being made to a certain Training Captain.

I would just like to post a note to say that Captain Andrew Morley very sadly passed away at the weekend.

It came as a shock to hear of this news and I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to his family.

I felt he was very professional Training Captain, with a unique sense of humour. He had been flying the Shorts since the early days of Streamline - later to be taken over by Emerald.

He was also a keen GA pilot, managing a group of 3 light aircraft at Elstree Aerodrome.

A great loss the the Aviation Community.

I just heard the news this morning, I'm completely shocked, as is everyone on the Shed fleet.

R.I.P Buddy.

Sincere condolences to his familly. Tragic after the loss of T. Cook ( 748 Training Captain) last year.

Always enjoyed flying with Andy, even though he could be rather eccentric. His jokes were appalling too!

He trained me on the Shed 4 years ago and it's thanks in part to his patience and relaxed attitude that I'm able to move on to bigger things now.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad news, he certainly was a tad eccentric but was a genuine bloke.

Flew with many of the f/o's he trained and I was always impressed by their knowledge and ability, he was a top instructor in my book.

Fly high mate.

Dear Friend

A great loss to all his family, friends and work mates. A truly genuine bloke whom I miss already. I had known him for many years and he was always there to talk to if you needed help and advice on many subjects. He also taught me a lot during my career and for that I will always be greatful. Rest in peace mate.

Very sad news.

I fly one of Andrews Cherokees down at Elstree. He did a great job with those aircraft.

Always remember how much difficulty I experienced trying to get hold of Andrew - a sign obviously, of his dedication to aviation in general.

I'm sure he's now in a better place....

Well, I never flew with Andrew, but he was a great colleague in my Streamline days. Condolences to his friends and relatives.

Was Andrew Morley the voice of Streamline 9 Tango which until the Emerald take over was frequently heard in the SEN area, particularly at weekends.

Very distinctive.

Yes, that would most likely been either Andrew or Mike Pavelin. Both of whom were 'distinctive'!

Only just found this thread now.

Shocked to say the least when I heard that Andrew had passed away. My sincere condolences to his family.

He was a great character with a fantastically dry sense of humour.

Will be attending next Monday, so will hopefully see some of you there.

Very sorry to hear of Andrew's death. I flew with him a few times at Streamline. He was a genuine bloke and a character.

I too used to fly with Andrew......just heard the news this very minute......my thoughts with his family and friends for tommorow.

Only just read this.
I last flew with Andy into a fogbound Eindhoven in 2003 to minima,
without him next to me I probably wouldn't have felt quite so confident!
A top Captain in my opinion and a sad untimely loss.

RIP.

Just found out my old mate has passed on and very saddened to hear it. He emailed me just before his untimely death complaining of being stressed out, seems the lifestyle finally caught up with him.
Andrew was quite unique, eccentric as many have said but never the less a very genuine character.
I'll miss you mate.:(
