DHL Commands

Just heard the other day that the Cmd Board have re-assessed the requirements for a command. Instead of the 3000hrs laid down in the ops man they have decided that it should be 4500hrs. This comes hot on the heels of the new list that was recently issued by CH which gave great hope to certain quarters that the rot had stopped. What a load of *&%^$£"^. They have done this for the sole reason of excluding some qualified F/O 's who just don't have the "right", read from ACL, background. This just proves that the managements assertion that they were interested in fairness to all is nonsense. Also it seems that JB has hired 5 more buddies from the club to bolster his ranks and enable him to exclude others. :*

Hey Guys,

The Goal Posts seem to be moving every week!!!!!
At least you are with a stable company thats not going down the pan.

But hey if its the stigma of those 4 silver stripes to put on your raincoats then get your Nikes on and and join the lo cost market !!!!

No Seniority Lists just lots of multi sector days to look forward too!!!!

TOO VITORIA AND BEYOND!!!!!!!

I wasn't denegrating JB. No problem personally. It does seem more than coincdental though that as a group of elegible pilots become available, the hour requirement is increased and some "qualified" people get hired to fill those spaces..
Also, there seems to be a certain lack of integrity in a company that says one thing and then does something completely different. On more than one occasion.

Vitoria, beautiful place. Good weather, professional control, nice radar, wonderful "hills"... and what about that delicious catering.
Why Vitoria too?

Dont think the Hours will be a problem!
But the requirement to be able to speak German might be a problem for some people.

Rotary,

Was wondering where you heard that 5 "experienced" crew had been hired.

Same old shxx

Gentlemen!

Some of you (and this is aimed at F/O's who think they should be the Captain already) may be perfect co-pilots BUT will never make the left seat.

It is not a matter of how many hours you have or how long you have worked for the company it is a matter of "Does the management consider you suitable to take command of THEIR multi million pound airplane"??

If the answer is NO - then live with it, move on and remain that perfect F/O that you know you are!! Even in the Great BA, some pilots retire at 55 as F/O's and this is not an admittance of failure but a realisation that not everybody has the "command quality" just like in the military everyone does not become the General!!

Get out more and drink more beer!!

:ok:

wheelbarrow 6th Dec 2004 19:52

oooh I wish I was like you, please wave at us from your Ivory Tower.

Get out more and drink more beer!!
Cheers to that!

"Does the management consider you suitable to take command of THEIR multi million pound airplane"??

The management of course could be wrong. They work for the same shareholders, who actually own the multi million pound airplane.

MercenaryAli,

Some quotes of your's from unrelated posts:

1. "I make and break the careers of pilots like you for a living"
2. "quaint accented self improvers"
3. "evident dislike for their superiors"

Guys, use the PPRuNE search engine and it won't be too hard to work out who MercenaryAli really is!

wheelbarrow 11th Dec 2004 07:51

Here is another of his comments:

"I hope one day our paths cross"

MercenaryAli has a big ego! He enjoys abusing his position of power and obviously feels comfortable in making these kinds of threats.

wheelbarrow 14th Dec 2004 15:26

This has got to be one of MercenaryAli's best quotes:

" For those of you who think (believe) I am a xxxxxxx as suggested by other posters, maybe I am but let me tell you this - I still get some of my old F/O's whom I have not actually flown with nor seen for many years call me up from time to time; they still call me "Boss" (and trust me the respect is mutual) and most of them are now Captains themselves or on the way to command - so I guess I am not so bad as some of you would wish to have me painted!!"

AND ONE OF HIS WIND UP'S REPLIED:

"Mercenali, perhaps the most disappointing part of aviation is that people like you still get to make a living flying. I'm gladder than you are that you will be an ex Capt in couple of years. Everyone flying will feel safer. Why don't YOU show a little humility . Thank god I don't work for your company, YOU TOO CAN HAVE AN ACCIDENT sir Chuck Yeager of winsor...great leaders use all there RESOURCES.... you know.... the R in CRM. "your old FO's"...sounds like they were your b#tches not your collegues. Maybe I should get out more and you should too instead of throwing stones from that glass castle you live in o royal highness of aviation."
