Cargo/Pax difficulty??

Hi all

I was just wondering to myself something so i thought id ask the people who would most likely know....

Lets say a guy has been instructing for 2 years and wants to move onto jets.
Would it be just as hard to get a job with a cargo operator on a B757 as it would to get with a pax airline flying a B757?

Im just trying to figure out if there is any difference in the job market between cargo and passenger carriers and to what extent?

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Thanks in advance

Dave

Why is it that people think that cargo airlines have lower requirements than passenger airlines?.

Tell me about it. Before professional aviation gave up on me (another story!) the question I was always asked was:
"Do you need to take a special test/exam/rating to fly passengers?"

DOHHH...

72jetjock,

glad to see you are still on these pages.

All of us were very sad to hear of you leaving us. Good luck in the future.:(

Aerofoil. it is very simple:

Same plan, same procedures, same pay, same difficulty to get in.. at worst different flight times with the integrators, mainly nightwork. But then again a lot of directs and less hassle from self loading freight. But also a more strict delay policy than you will ever encounter at the pax side of flying!:\

I have done both and i problably will stay in Freight from now on.
-No traffic jams to/from work.
-The same hours as my days off(all night in the bar and sleeping all morning)
-No PAX i say again NO PAX ,(the down side no girls in the back!)
But as the saying goes ,better 1 F/A in the hotel then 10 in the air:}
one other good thing about cargo is that most of the airlines make money ,so more job security.

good luck in finding a job

Neil
