Are UPS determined to keep the DC8? such a wonderful freighter, especialy as with UPS having the CFM's.
Can anyone tell me what routes do they still operate with them? Long haul still?
sidelining a bit do ups still operate 74's?

UPS DC-8's

The 8's are primarily used for domestic only, and then mostly short-haul. They currently operate 45 DC-8-73 & 71's. And expect to continue for about another 10 years. They stopped using the 8 for Int'l ops when relieabilty became problem. The A-300f is replacing some of the 8 routes domesticly and the plan is purchase around 90 total a-300's. they currently have about 35 busses. As for the 747 they are being replaced by MD-11's, and should be completly gone by 2006.:ok:

UPS will keep the 8's on domestic routes in the states for now, how long for is anyones guess, was a great site at EMA with 3 dc8 in a line when they did the transatlantic routes a few years ago, sadly now replaced by B767. long haul are also md-11 and B747 .
