EASA ATPL courses / exams in HKG area ?
 

Good morning !

Just moved to HKG flying for a local Part-135 operator.
Would like to take the chance, meanwhile here, to complete my EASA ground studies, or actually exams, for my EASA ATPL (already FAA ATP and ICAO, EU citizen but no EASA license yet).

Anyone knows if there is an EASA ATPL Ground Studies & examination center (like Golf Coast Training Solutions in Florida, USA) in the HKG area ?

No problem MGGG..You are right...we were just exchanging
So far no EASA Test / Examiners or Courses facilities in Hong Kong.
There is one in Malasya from CAA UK

Lots of guys use the CAA in KL and you can have remote ground school from UK, if have you enough hours on MMC/type (500 I think, but check UK CAP) you don't need to go through a ground school provider to sit exmas. If so you can do online with CATS, BGS, Aviation Exam etc. The CAA are changing the QB around Q2 I have heard and they are also adding a new topic PBN so that will be 15 in total. Hopefully that answers your question.

6 sittings over 18 months, you can do as many exams in one sitting (the block of days in a week that exams occur at that test centre). You can only fail an exam twice, a third failure or failure to complete all within time and sittings means all must be done again. They are not that difficult it's just a huge amount of info and q's to cover. The clock starts when you sit first exam, good luck!

What is the new 15th exam PBN?

Performance Based Navigation, I had been told it is to be a separate subject but they may still choose to have it as part of the RNAV subject.
