Bob Addis
 

Bob Addis, former Dragonair Captain, sadly succumbed to cancer last week in Portugal, where he has been living with his wife Moira since retiring from Dragonair in the mid nineties. Bob, who was originally a Rhodesian (pre-Zimbabwe days), joined Dragonair during the airline's early days in the late eighties as a Captain on the B737-200, flew the L1011 which he loved, and the A320 (which he loathed)! Prior to Dragonair Bob had a long successful career - notably flying B707 and DC-8 freighters.

Bob was a huge aviation enthusiast - flew radio controlled aircraft on days off and in retirement helped restore an ex Portuguese Air Force Chipmunk to pristine condition.

All sympathy to Moira and Danny.

A great guy to work with. Flew with him on the Viscount. Always had a smile in those days. An ace on the old bird and greased it on every time! RIP Bob, you were one of my favourite captains ever.

Bob was a super wonderful guy and our hearts reach out to his wife Moira, family and to his friends.
