UK Commute.

S.O, thinking about heading back to UK until upgrade, have staff travel through family on other carriers so not limited to pricey CX staff travel / loads / seniority. Bit lost in the Tax situation. Wondering if anyone who does commute can help me out. Reading from UK tax info that i'll need to stay under 90 days to avoid paying tax, but in the double taxation agreement says if the recipient is present in the other party (i.e. UK) for a period or periods not exceeding in the aggregate 183 days in 12 mth period... Also just like to know how this double taxation agreement works. I.e. does the UK Gov recognise the tax free allowance from the HKSAR and just tax on additional income above this or use the UK personal allowance etc? I know theres quite a few commuters. Like to keep the costs down but still think paying Uk tax as well as HK tax, given the increase quality of living / space etc works out cheaper then a bigger place here in HK.

Will get in touch with tax office but nice to hear others experience of how it works in practice. Appreciate any help. Looking at France and other areas in Europe also, as well as around asia.

(and yes yes I know...batten down the hatches there's a twister coming my way)

You can ask 10 pilots about tax laws and you will get 10 answers..
The ONLY way to get substantial information is to ask a tax lawyer.
Laws are not only complex, but also changing constantly.Pilots are subjective and simply not qualified.

I know, a boring reply, but it is what it is.

Do not tell anyone, including your mates as they will dob you in. Just commute.

Don't forget to publish the flights you're operating so we can avoid them.
