Resignations from the AOA

Can anyone please tell me how many have resigned from the AOA over the past 12 months. I have heard around 250 so far and about 30 a month presently.

Why would you want to know this?

If you were in the AOA you would know.

41IA 7th May 2002 01:16

I smell a journo. That you, Miss Button?

Alpha Leader 7th May 2002 02:20

And why should this information be classified?

The AOA has not shunned publicity lately, has it?

Albatross 7th May 2002 03:29

Have you tried to get a sensible answer out of the AOA lately? Sorry I asked.

B787 7th May 2002 04:22

Those of you who had attended the AOA EGM or watched the VCD of the EGM would know exactly the answer to the question.

Albatross 7th May 2002 05:44

I didn't do either last time round so please tell me. I am probably the only one who wants to know and I don't think it is classified information.

backspace 7th May 2002 05:52

No albatross, I would like to know also. It would be a good indication of how much support the AOA has from within.

Maybe thats why no one will tell us the answer.

Albatross 7th May 2002 06:53

Backspace, I will try to track down a VCD and get the numbers. From (shaded) memory they have thrown out 14 and 380 are refusing to pay the subs so membership could be halved by Christmas if this is a developing trend of discontent. Very sad times.

ceeone30 7th May 2002 16:09

Friend of mine @ Cathay said the union is approx. +/- 50 or so members stronger compared to same time last year. Can not remember exact figure.

backspace 8th May 2002 06:08

Thanks albatross. At least someone is listening.

sand dune 9th May 2002 05:20

The total membership is UP roughly 135 members compared to this date a year ago.

Albatross 9th May 2002 08:07

Up by 135? That I find a little hard to believe but it is a rumours forum so anything goes. It has definately fallen in numbers which isn't good and the EGM will hopefully reveal by how much.

The Big O 14th May 2002 03:32

the only problem is that there are members who can afford to buy house's in hong kong and other parts of the world and also go out and buy brand new bmw's
but are to much of tight arse's to pay the 5% ,
