Cathay Dragon

Hong Kong Airlines continues expansion; Jetstar HK appoints CEO & Dragonair to grow closer to Cathay | CAPA - Centre for Aviation

Identical Cathay Regional Cabin, entertainment etc.

Cathay livery albeit a Dragon on the mid fuselage and 'Dragon' instead of 'Pacific'!

Whats next?

Nice photos!

Is that a Cathay Captain on A, B, C or D scale?? He looks proud and honored. Must be great.

Awesome Instagram shots. Cost cutting in the Advertisement department perhaps? :)

Keep sending them up!

Nice paint scheme, KA deserve a new image. Those filthy white airbuses needed a new life.

SMOC 16th February 2013 16:55

That paint job will make CX planes look like a subsidiary of Cathay Dragon.

sinkingship 17th February 2013 01:26

Hasn't that Captain gone to EK.

Sergeant Rock 17th February 2013 09:59

No, he's still here....

fly123456 17th February 2013 11:11

Will we be allowed to position in Business class, then? :hmm:

Cathay Dragon stalks new and less new HK competitors | Plane Talking

Ghost_Rider737 18th February 2013 10:19

Dragon Pacific sounds better :E

SMOC 18th February 2013 10:45

Dragon Pacific sounds better
How about Dragon Pacific Airways or DPA :}

Lowkoon 18th February 2013 11:21

Credible rumor that it has all been scraped because they need to "look" different to cx, to maintain the image and advantage of two separate AOCs. Hard to argue you are separate entities when you look and act identical.

If i was jester hk, or hk airlines, I would lobby CAD and beijing over unfair slot allocation if they looked identical, ticketed identically, seamless service etc... Wouldn't you?

dpamember 18th February 2013 14:12

Wouldnt have thought it would be an issue, especially with the up and coming CX wetlease on the Bangalore route and the frequent amount of KA Taiwan flights operated by CX aircraft.

ByAirMail 21st February 2013 00:58

I still cannot use my CX F.O.C's on K.A. We're 2 "completely separate company's" according to the benefit manager.

nitpicker330 21st February 2013 04:25

I guess you're not too happy about the new Airframes KA receive this year then?

geh065 21st February 2013 06:05

I guess you're not too happy about the new Airframes KA receive this year then?
You mean the one new A330 vs all the knackered old ones also joining the fleet?

Toruk Macto 21st February 2013 06:35

With Cathay written on the side KA boys will wont datel staff travel next !

betpump5 21st February 2013 08:45

Additionally, if the regular breakdowns are not one thing, how about the experience of the average new joiner? 200 hours on a Cessna 2 seater, then straight into the jet trainer. KA can only operate safely due to the high experience levels in the LHS,
Are you clowns still harping on about "experience" levels? Only in Cathay.
BA don't seem to have this problem and they have been recruiting 200hr guys for decades. Change the record guys.

Its not their only intake, they have a number of streams including direct entry.
