Dragonair Pilots Association

The above website run by the pilots association gives a fair amount of info.
It includes CX and KA payscales, and links to real estate sites, supermarkets, and Hong Kong general info.

Whether you save money is dependant on you and your personal situation. ie married/kids/lifestyle type/ etc etc.
