Fatigue Survey Form
Commencing on 21st June 2010, all Captains and First Officers operating the HKG-RUH-BAH pattern are requested to complete the Fatigue Survey Form, which will be included in the briefing package at dispatch in HKG. You are requested to fill in the details just prior to TOD into BAH |
....the management know FA about fatigue....as they sit in their offices most days worrying about what they will have for lunch..! FYI...based pilots are about to revolt regarding regional patterns that keep us in HK for up to 4 days at a time. Really smart to have us operating back from Japan late at night.....most of us are about as awake as Rip van Winkle by the time we start decent into HK. Why don't we have HK based pilots do a YVR-JFK-YVR turn the day after they arrive in YVR from HK....about as smart as what the based pilots are being rostered to do in HK. Guaranteed this will end badly.
|
Air Profit,
you mean like the reserve call out to YVR and return with min rest (16hrs) in YVR because someone in YVR went sick!!!! Not even being afforded a proper sleep opportunity on your home base local time because it is deemed as a roster disruption. It is a fact that those of us based in HKG are getting sick and tired of PXing and PTing around the world to cover for sicknesses on a base. Trust me there are 50 guys in HKG willing to trade positions with you, so don't even think about comparing your YVR roster to a HKG roster. |
If they are serious about fatigue, they would employ electronic fatigue monitoring. but they won't because it would show how bad it really is. They are to !!!! scared to do it as so many patterns would show up as dangerous. Until they use objective recording of fatigue, this outfit will continue its decline.
|
Well, it IS a start........
|
F10....you're just not that bright are you? I wasn't 'comparing' bases to HK. I was making the point that there is a complete disregard for fatigue in our rostering. As for 'sickness' on a base....it's because CX insists on manning the base to minimum levels. We do get sick once in a while...! Anyway, back to the main point: Having someone on a base do regional patterns completely out of body clock is asking for a serious incident. Most HK pilots who get sent to a base still end up working with a 4 man crew....
|
yep AirProfit the 3 PVGs that I have this month are all midday flights for me.
Remember based rosters are produced first so in HKG the best we can get is the dregs, while many of our junior crew get to chose their trips. |
Actually AP you should be the last person on this forum to judge a person's intelligence. Out of the plethora of absolute sh!te HK patterns that you could have used to make your comparison, and make your point, you choose to compare your NRT pattern to a complete fictitious pattern, as if to imply that a HK based crew has nothing worse than your NRT pattern. Well pull your head out of your arse princess!

Is the chief pilot aware of how short and busy this sector can be??? At a time when you are fu^&*g nackered as it is, and should be devoting your full attention to flying and monitoring, you now have to fill out a form relating to air safety at one of them most crucial stages of flight....yeah that is really smart |
Believe me sqwak I wasn't going to be stupid enough to fill out the form at TOD. I love this comment as well
The data will be used to assess the viability of the current pattern in summer, while it is likely that future winter patterns will include a layover in RUH |
Only for the cockpit crew ............:ugh:
VR  |
And Jeddah overnights
As well as RUH overnights they are also looking at Jeddah overnights. The current Jeddah to Bahrain shuttle is full in economy leaving virtually no seats for sale out of Bahrain.
|
Since when CX did JED - BAH shuttle? ........
AFAIK, it is either HKG-DXB-JED-DXB-HKG or HKG-RUH-BAH-HKG or HKG-BAH-RUH-HKG?..............:) VR  |
Dragon
If it's a subjective fatigue form it only takes a few seconds to complete, and many airline crews currently do this sort of reporting without issue. If time is an issue do it on blocks. If schedules need to be changed these sort of forms may help you. Unfortunately just whining doesn't do the job these days.... :\ |

Bah-Ruh -Hkg
Hkg-Ruh-Bah Are much more fatiguing than 745/738. This new form is obviously a response FINALLY to all the ASRs which have been submitted. The follow up to these ASRs is quite detailed, so it shouldn't be too hard to complete this new one. Just do it after landing and see if you can remember the Top of Descent!!!!!!! |
It sounds like you could be talking yourself into a RUH layover! Be careful.
|
Exactly!! Our choices seem to be either fly tired or a 48 hour layover in RUH. :yuk: Which would you choose? I wonder how many female crew will be rostered for this.
Also do you think that we should be filling out the form on other sectors too? Like DEL-BKK-HKG for example. |
Simple Solution
According to CP the form is to be filled out near ToD on RUH-BAH.
Simple- an extra 30 mins holding- say 2700 kg of fuel should do it!:ok: |
