Allowances
Allowances for layovers are calculated and promulgated through the Crew Control System (CCS). These calculations are automated and are strictly in compliance with the stipulated parameters described in Volume 1 of the Operations Manual. On certain layovers (the current pattern involving a shuttle from BOM-DXB vv is an example), ISD has determined that it wishes to provide additional payments to cabin crew. Where such discretionary payments are stipulated by ISD, the calculation for the cabin crew pattern will be adjusted by ICM and the payment will be included in the allowance and will be shown on the allowance telex. There will therefore be occasions where the cabin crew are in receipt of more than the defined allowance for a trip and there will be an apparent difference between the cockpit crew and cabin crew allowance for an otherwise identical pattern. |
Was that "discretionary" or "discriminatory"...

"SAME TEAM, SAME DREAM" :ok:
|
Well we all know that ISD calls the shot's and not Flt Ops...........
|
Isn't that the same as a tax free pay rise? I smell a rat.
|
HANG ON A MINUTE !!!! Someone needs to explain just WHY cabin crew should receive MORE allowances on a given trip than cockpit crew. I have no problem with them getting a pay raise, but how do you justify MORE allowances??? I suggest the AOA get on this immediately and get an explanation from the company. This smells big time.:ugh:

They gotta do something to decrease the profit, otherwise they would have to pay everyone a share.
|
Seems to me ISD has come up with an incentive to stop cabin crew going sick on "ugly" patterns - Make the allowances more attractive.
AoA needs to nip this in the bud ASAP. |
Grivation...nail on the head!
Oh, and Richard trying to prove he is not as stupid as he looks/ sounds.....! Richard, it ISN'T working.....:} |
This horse !!!! needs to stop immediately... if cabin crew call in sick for "ugly" patterns they give them more money... if we called in sick for the same patterns it would be considered "industrial action" by management...
|
That's cause they have more balls !!!

They certainly do. Those of us who were around in the early nineties will remember when the cabin crew 'sat on their suitcases' and went on strike.
Memorable images include the all-night vigils by our girls outside Government House in the pouring rain, and their spokes-lady, R.V., eloquent and attractive, who even got the press on the crews' side. Also Red Oddington, the CEO, described by one reporter in one photo as 'looking like a frightened rabbit caught in car headlights'. |

Funny how this pops up at the same time as local pilots push for equality in "allowances".
Management do have a sense of humour afterall. |
