Deadline Extended to 10 May
Excellent news - Deadline extended for SLS and COS08 to 10 May!
Well done AOA... |
That's not what it says on CrewDirect...
|
Well done AOA. Great work.

Ladies and Gentlemen
EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR SLS NOMINATION AND CoS08 OPTIONS I am pleased to inform you that management has agreed to extend the SLS nomination and CoS08 options deadline until 10th May 2009. The General Committee is still working on preparing more information for your consideration. The GC's advice remains: Text Box: The HKAOA recommends that you do not respond until your Association is able to provide you with more information on your choices. Time is of the essence, but the deadline is now not until 10 May. Do not be hasty. John Findlay General Secretary For and on Behalf of the General Committee HKAOA 23 April 2009 |
I'm going to echo the sentiment expressed earlier.....WTF do I pay dues for if you are going to post every AOA note on pprune......if your in the AOA, you got the email, you don't need to post it for everyone else to read.....if they need to know the AOA's position they can join the AOA.
|
Yo batman...you sound like Robin.
How many guys have you convinced to join the AOA with your bitchy attitude? Cheers Joe |
Quite a few....once you explain to most people the benefits of joining it is a no brainer if you are smart enough....
I just don't understand why you would be willing to give away stuff you pay for JoeSchmoe? |
Hey Bat Guano,
Who cares? It's every man for himself. It always has been. It always will be. The AOA is just an information dissemination device. Although the members may talk big, when it comes down to it, it's all about walking the walk. That's called slowdown, work-to-rule and striking. Although there have been pockets of the first two options, they didn't work (49ers) and the third has never been exercised, nor will it ever be. Why don't you direct your energies into something more constructive? |
No Idea ......
Every pilot group has made out somewhat better in this deal as a result of the AOAs involvement. Some more than others, but not for lack of trying. If you don't believe me walk across the road, and talk to the hard working volunteers who have been putting in some very long days at the expense of their families. All in order to do the best possible under the circumstances for your family.
No AOA and you get the bare min from the co. AOA with 100%, dedicated followers...who knows. This is not a perfect world so stick to the facts please. FG |
^^^ whs :ok:
|
I agree, Mr I'mBatman. Will people stop horning HKAOA communications all over Fragrant Harbour for the benefit of our 'passengers' (non-AOA members that is).

Deadline extended SO WHAT....
The deadline has been extended ? so what , the sooner this ridiculous episode is put to bed the better , why try and draw something so ridiculous out anyway .......
you either know what your doing or you are an imbecile..... Its clear cut , a company that tries to ambush you with this hilarity doesn't deserve the recognition of even ticking the boxes , unless of course like I said earlier YOU ARE DESPERATE P.S why hasn't there been any correspondance from the President ? |
Why also, can the company not tell us about the extension?
They want us as management, to share the pain but don't have the common courtesy to let us know that the deadline has been extended. Charming........... |
April fool !!!!!:ok:
|
Date extension
The deadline has been extended due more to the FAU's efforts that the AOA. There are legal, contract implications that they are investigating.
|
While I respect the efforts of all during the 49'ers time, I don't agree that that one scenario warrants making the determination of the AOA's worth. It is not solid reasoning that takes one instance to conclude future outcomes. Inductive logic holds that there must be a series of the same occurrance to conclude something. The sun rose every day this week, therefore, it will rise tomorrow.
Are there more examples of why people think the AOA is inept? All I hear is the 49'ers case. Again, I agree that the 49'er case is definitely relevant, but I prefer more to determine the worth of the AOA. |
No indication from CX yet, that the deadline has been extended.
And what happens to people who already expressed their choice of CoS/SLS..what a circus!!:D Keep extending the deadline as long as you want CX..I'm not choosing ANY of your options anyway, so doesn't really matter when the deadline ends.. |
That's real funny of them! First they put out the deal telling us it was achieved in agreement with the AOA, turns out it was BS, they basically TOLD the AOA what they're about to put out! Then it's missing a lot of important details one needs to make such a decision and it's unrealistic to expect that many will say yes when there are so many grey areas! They say a Q & A will be out soon to address questions etc... and days later not a damn f'ing thing! They extend the deadline and don't make an announcement!
It makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes!!! It's all very very amateurish regardless. Just like everything else including SOPs on how to operate and what's expected of you, they leave a lot of grey areas and leave everyone confused as to to what's the right course of action! You can do this or that or the other thing... saying "this is the thinking pilot's airline"!!! BUUUUULSH!T , this is the confused pilot's airline. Everything is grey and loose... quite the opposite of the appearances put up. Not a tight run operation in so much of what they do. |
HeavyWrench, you obviously haven't figured out how things work here at Cathay Pacific. It is one of the genius aspects of the airline that behind the seeming chaos and incompetence around you, it is actually a finely tuned machine...reminds me of an expensive swiss watch! Once you have been here many years, you start to appreciate that the ability to make a complete mess of every area of a pilots career is actually the way managers grade themselves. In their morning meetings, they compare the latest disasters in their departments, and then give each other hardy congratulations based on the most misery caused. It is a very satisfying way to go through a management career, knowing that you have created the most ubelievably inept system possible. Very edifying, and something to which we should all aspire. Remember, it's not the chaos caused that's important, it's the misery that results from it that is the true measure of managements greatness. :bored:
|
Yep, I know what you say is true! But I guess I still refuse to accept it as acceptable and point out the fact that the emperor is not wearing any cloths! Maybe you're right and after some years it will wear off of me... maybe not! We'll see
