Cholesterol

Sorry really boring thread to most, no one being sacked, no bitchen about the company and not a threat of IA.

Anyone with CX taking medicine to lower their Cholesterol? How does the Company or at least the Medico/CAD view this?

Thanks

Even the GMA is taking pills to lower his Cholesterol.

By the way, I hope that's not your real groupwise? And I hope it's not anyone else's either.

Well don’t go to the GMA with a Gluten intolerance, he will ask you to find another career. :ugh::rolleyes:

He tried stopping pilots from ordering gluten free meals. Nice piece of work.:*

CRW,

I have some experience with High cholesterol and had a very very excellent outcome in a 2 week period (from 7.9 down to 4.1 (hdl 1.4, LDL 2.33).

Send me a pm and I can send you the information.... All done naturally without any medication. Where are you based?

I have replied to the PM's received. For those who would like to check out their risk factor here is a useful site.

Its seems that we are not alone with this issue! However in my case I feel that finding out I was in the serious risk area gave me the motivation to really change around my health direction and I feel better than I have in years. We underestimate the effects this lifestyle has on us and the impacts on our health and well being. Sadly when we come up against problems the main solution thrown at us is drugs which do not deal with the root:) of the issue and in some cases just add to the problems.

Its important to educate yourselves on the relationship between Chol, HDL and LDL. If your HDL is too low then you need to focus on raising it and lowering the cholesterol. he ratios are very important. I knew nothing of all of this when I first received my blood tests and Im amazed now at what I have learned. Drugs though is not the way I wanted to go. I wanted my health back!

Weight was also a big factor for me as was stress and low energy due to long term tiredness. This can all be turned around but its important to look at all the factors involved rather than just putting out little fires all the time.

My success on this was down to first of understanding all of the above and different factors contributing. Then a complete detox, excersize, relaxation (don't laugh...meditation), massage and an over hall of my relationship with food. Everyday now I am learning to turn around old bad habits (sometimes I even take a packed lunch with me to work ;) and the energy I feel is beyond comparison to where it was. I did need to take 2 weeks holidays to work on this as it would not be advisable to fly while going through such intense changes. 2 weeks holidays for a new lease of life was a good deal!

PS Im looking fiiiine now in my uniform according to the wife and there are a few spare tires removed which neither she nor I miss. 22lbs in total and still moving in the right direction.
