Can you sunstantiate this with some evidence?

Yesterday was 1 April, known as April Fools day in some parts of the world....
|
check the board in the crew room, copy of newspaper report, I believe "the standard".
|
quote : " p.c. received a bonus of 3.6 millions equal to his basic salary..." SCMP
|
trouble is I'm not in HKG!
Maybe it was an April fools, trouble is we are the fools! |
No April Fools :) Check out the CX website, it's published every year... PC actually get more money in total this yr than 2004 :) 9.292M vs 9.186M.... sick, isn't it?
http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/intr...ual_report.pdf Edit: oh it's on pg.76 btw |
"Bonus is related to services for 2004 but paid and charged to the Company in 2005."
On another note, I am curious as to why our maintenance costs went up $743m (about 20% compared to previous) or about an extra USD260,000 a day, every day. Did we really bust them that much? Yes the fleet did expand by 8 aircraft spread throughout the year, but 5 of those a/c were straight off the showroom floor. Ohh look at that, HAECO's turnover went up $987m, with an increase in profit of $289m. Well done HAECO |
Cost of converting freighters no doubt went on our bill!

spanners you would probably be best placed to answer, but isn't that fundamentally a chop, strenghten, gut, install, and D-check? Not trying to sound flippant about the work that is done, but there was only one in the last FY. I really can't see where the money has gone. Like I said US$260,000 a day EXTRA, every day, is a lot of $ (USD180 a minute EXTRA in case you were wondering)

Probably includes HKD/E/F refurbs....if that&s what you call a paint job and recycling some old dunnies and galleys! No point in capitalising the cost as unlikely to get the depreciation on old airframes. |
but isn't that fundamentally a chop, strenghten, gut, install, and D-check I'm sure there are reaons behind it, I'll see if I can find out. You would be surprised at what is deemed as 'Engineering' for the purpose of who's cost it is. Cleaning, that's engineering! de-icing that's engineering, there are more but I won't bore you with them. Like I say, I'll see if I can find out. |
