Direct Entry FO Pax?
 

Can anyone elaborate on the rumours circulating about direct entry positions for FO's Pax fleet in Aus? I have seen the advert in FI but to be honest it is a little ambigous about what exactly the job entails. How will this effect SO seniority and upgrade times to JFO/FO/CPT? I can imagine, if this is true, there will be quite a few disgruntled SO's in CX city...and rightly so! Many thanks for your replies!

I called Cathay last week. The advert is for DEFO for the freighter fleet. They said they will assess the experience levels on the applications they receive, but thought about 4000-5000 hrs will be about right for an interview (I guess this should include significant jet hours). Next interviews in Australia are in May (several more after this though) - sounds like quite a large requirement for pilots.
