Life at Dragonair
 

Could any Airbus guys with Dragonair give me any details on what it is like working for them and how they envisage the future may change for them be it good or bad?
How does the F/O package fit into the cost of living in HKG etc?

I'm curious as well, I just had a look at the website, and there's no mention of a requirement for F/Os. However that doesn't mean that they don't recruit them from time to time, does anyone know of their recruitment plans for the near future?
As I type, I begin to wonder about Air Macau. Would anyone be kind enough to pass along some first hand knowledge of them.

I'm not sure of Dragonair's recruitment plans but I do have an interview coming up and was hoping to find out some info on what they are like as an employer.

life in HKG **** poor with Dragonair, cost of living compared to renumeration no good, struggle to stay sane,long hours, destinations no fun - all in all best think again if I were u. Little or no security,they have a good supply of eager F/O's and therefore have to offer v. little.

Don't fall for the above ! The world is full of whinging aviators who think that the world owe them a living. Truth, KA work you hard but roster is stable and the company still seem to give a damn !

Salary is good but establishment costs high in 1st year. Company expanding but doesn't need to advertise as those in the know pass on to mates etc etc...

This company seems to have a vision and business continues to grow as do Airbus and B747 fleets. COmmand is rapid so KA appear to favour higher time FO's (3500 hrs plus) and guys/gals with the correct expat attitude !

Good company so give it a shot !

Basically speaking, 15% less salary than CX, no pension fund, no rostering agreement and continual attacks on conditions of service by management.

Commands are fast, under 2 yrs for an A320. Destinations are mainly China.. .Flying is around 70 hrs month average.. .Nights away vary but 6-7 would be realistic.

Jink is reasonable they,ve taken guys with 1900/dash8 time all depends on whether or not they like you,commands quick and as hard as you want to make them,once you get a command though things are ok just take a look at the machinery in the company car park,stan's nissan president looks a bit second rate compared to some of the rides down there.
