Recruitment ban

Is the ban still active?

Will you also support the staff at Manchester who have just been served with redundancy notices? No I didn't think so.

smallwing 13th December 2001 07:36

What are the chances you see the 49ers getting reinstated?

I think chances they buy and win the mark six will have a higher probability!

Sometimes I believe there are casualties in war. CX didn't ask for LIA. Not saying it is FAIR (what kind of word is that?) but the company pays the salary not the union and they have proven they do what they pleased.

Try throwing some more peanuts at DT.

Frankg, no the differance is, the staff at MAN have been loyal to CX for over a decade sometimes putting the company before their own famalies to ensure the CX flight remains at MAN. So in between all the wind ups and moaning, spare a thought for some genuine CX people who have been told they are no longer required two weeks before Xmas, so you see it's no only the crews that are affected by this crisis.

Fairly obvious smallwing is either some swire ponce with too much time on his hands or an aviation club wannabee/neverwillbe.

If you dont believe the HKAOA view, surely spanners post shows just what sort of scum the management at CX are....the guys at Man did not go slow/strike/etc. and as stated but bent over backwards repeatedly to help the company, to be rewarded with the DCM....commiserations to those affected. :(

smallwing 13th December 2001 19:26

SD, i am as much a swire lackey as you are a scab.

obviously airlines are not built on pilots anymore. yes without one the plane doesn't move, but i hear there are plenty of pilots nowadays who are ready to a seat before it gets cold.

it is obviously sad about MAN but if the company didn't have to babysit a sad bunch of naggers then perhaps they can worry about other parts of the company.

ps. any new news on the pilots suing for US$ 1 million? :D

No firing 50+ guys is not the same, the people being made redundant didn't deserve it. http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/tosser1.gif

I thought the union already dropped the demand for reinstatement. Isn't that the conditions they agreed to for return to negotiations back in November?

Flapextender 16th December 2001 03:12

Thanks very much for the heavy reply. But I still donīt know, if the ban is active or not. Nobody from the Union here?
   ;)

It is..

Siddique 17th December 2001 20:55

Get real chaps....you are the only ones to get a pay rise this year...the rest have had a cut....wake up before its too late! Must say i like your Graemlin spanners!!! Where did you get it. Totally applicable here.

raitfaiter 18th December 2001 02:04

Whats happening to the spina bifida guys like 4 bars and CC who have jumped out of the AOA for promotions/their own advantage? Its all very well stopping guys without a job from applying....but shouldn't you clean out your own stables first?

Hardon deGeare 21st December 2001 13:44

Legolas,

You're dead right. if 50-odd blokes have been sacked then 50-ish people have filled those positions through an upgrade.

Who does the recruitment ban affect? Not the guys that filled the positions but those of us out here dreaming of a Heavy job.

No I won't take a job at CX if offered but the HKAOA isn't doing much for my belief in Unions either.

Regards etc, and Merry Bloody Xmas.
