CATHAY PATHETIC 21st June 2001 06:42

No, the media blackout is over. Its time to tell it like it is.

Leave the media stuff to the AOA/PR. Individual public/PPrune comments are non standard. Please desist CP. ( as announced at the EGM).

ok Cathay Pathetic if it's time to tell it like it is why doesn't your email address work. Could it be that you just have something to hide or is doing as the union asks too much for you...... Please stay out of these pages until this is offcially endorsed !!

It's good to see most of us still check in here, but don't reply to these messages. As a former moderator of this site, I was here during the '99 dispute which generated 1000 messages in one week. In my opinion, the comments on PPRuNe were detrimental to our outcome.

Selective comments - usually the most outrageous - were lifted by the Hong Kong media and CX, and used against us. Topics were generated by interested parties to drive their own agenda, certainly not in any attempt to understand the issues. It was my recommendation that this forum be closed for the duration of the '99 dispute. Danny was dead against that, he has a product to protect and I understand that.

From our point of view, it is better that we speak with one voice. We are paying good money to our PR company. The AOA has an excellent news service, and will shortly have it's own closed forum to allow us to let off steam. Use these resources and ignore PPRuNe.

Be professional! Look, speak and act the part!
