Dreaming in technicolor?

I was wondering if it is a reasonable expectation to be able to afford a 2 BR apartment in Discovery Bay, on a SO's salary?

absolutely no problem... you can get a nice 3 br flat too... downtown is a bit more expensive.

2 bedroom is around 6000 HKD per month. You should be able to afford a couple of those with decent change on the housing allowance.

If you tell the real estate agent that you're a pilot (which is a no-no), they will immediately point you in the direction of the 'upscale' flats in DB. Though they may be nice, you may end up paying more than you want to.
