have been taken on by CX since the 'ban'?

as of yesterday just over 30.... with either 2 or 4 arriving every fortnight from training in australia.

by the end of the year there will be 90+ (incl frieghter FOs) by the end of 2003, at current projection, approx 250.

So then i'm guessing (if logic prevails that is......) once the first 49 have been taken on anyone applying or put online afterwards should have no qualms with those in the union?????

Where is 411a's clever, witty, and always useful addition?

Not to mention the 40 or so cadets each year from adelaide, surely the 49ers have been "replaced" by the cadets employed over the last year or so??????

cadets arent effected by the ban....but for info 3 courses have graduated since the ban took effect..... approx 25.

I know of about 10 from SA

170 have joined since the start of the so-called ban, with 20 joiner each month

As of the beginning of this month there were 56 new joiners.

Well, the numbers quoted on various threads on this forum would suggest about one third are currently not members of the HKAOA.

I'm not getting involved but you will hear a variety of answers too!:)

With 1700 pilots and about 1000 paid up members of the AOA, ND and friends now 'lead' 58% of CX pilots.

Every month more join CX (who aren't allowed to join the AOA - DUMB) and more retire or resign from CX and more quit from the AOA. Not long now before AOA membership falls below 50%...when will the 'AOA 100%' sticker be changed...perhaps 'AOA 40% and Falling'

Hustler, there is nothing defensive about pilotabroad's post. Surely he is making a valid and creative point. I don't mean the sticker, that was just a throw away line. But when the AOA membership falls below 50%, not too long now, what then? Maybe it'll be time for a new union, one that will work with the company instead of fighting it just for the sake of fighting. That's what got the 49+ers into their predicament and that strategy will not save them. Any new union won't be recognised by IFALPA and other international bodies I hear you say, well so what I say other than pontificating, doing some brotherly back patting and thereby exacerbating the dispute here, I don't see much else and nothing constructive. The septics are good at solving industrial disputes aren't they - I don't think.
