Looking at schedules, it seems CX are now becoming a regional player.

The recent application of all KA routes seem to confirm this. HK flag carrier days are over, that is too colonial.

There are only so many carriers allowed to service the world from the mainland and the reality is that HK is now a mainland city.

Maybe this is your chance KA, get back and petition them to rename CX as Dragon. Might finally get a twinkle back in your eye

Now they need to work our where the capacity will be.

They are no longer a flag carrier.

All that government money was piled in under the premise of job preservation and keeping HK an aviation hub. Then they decided to blow up KA and shed jobs after the money was deposited in their account.

Swire has conned China for a century, you don’t think they have grown tired of their antics?

Now they need to work out what they can hang on to.

104 routes with unlimited frequencies could be a killer. They won't be able to expand quick enough to make it a major problem while covid zero is around. Where will they even get crew willing to live in HK on a pittance?

Just by looking at Donghai Airlines and their delays to the 787 you can easily see that they cannot get their act together fast. Few years time would be another story...

But of those 104 routes, how many will they fly? GBA basically applied to fly anywhere within reach of Hong Kong and won’t be flying to many of them.

Even with two aircraft (has the second reached Hong Kong?) they are losing pilots back to CX so hardly a time for other airlines to be quaking in their boots.
