So because KA has been treated unfairly it is ok if others are treated the same even better if they are CX.
We shouldn’t complain because you have been terminated ? By the same employer we are complaining about ?
i don’t get your logic.

ToCatLady 19th Nov 2021 05:20

If you’ve moved on, Why are you still on this forum?

or are you still begging the ID to get you a job as your cadet MPL is worthless?

KABOY 19th Nov 2021 05:45

Did I say I moved on? it was about the mouths of the families that needed feeding, according to your colleague Bindair Dundat.

That's why you guys are enjoying this race to the bottom. You can only see what's in front of you, not what's around you.

Rie 19th Nov 2021 06:24

ToCatLady

haha I’m not Danny, I didn’t fail a Cadetship. I am not even a cadet.

Bueno Hombre 19th Nov 2021 07:14

Yes, the arrogant CX Fat Cats will, at last, return to the their home cattery.

Piet Lood 19th Nov 2021 07:14

God, you guys are exhaustingly stupid.

If one doesn’t like it here, one should “move on” and STFU.
Once one moves on, one is no longer entitled to one’s opinion about this place, so STFU.
Either way: one must like it or STFU.
In other words: “either agree with me or move on and STFU”.

You are welcome to stay and go down with the ship but I will not be bullied into submission.
You don’t have to agree with me. You don’t even have to like what I say, but I get to make fun of you. Deal?

SaulGoodman 19th Nov 2021 08:50

As an outsider who sees what is going on in CX, HK, and more importantly, the Mainland I really feel it is a blessing in disguise for the pilots who have been terminated. I am happy not having to bring up my kid in the Hongkong of today. This pandemic has only accelerated the takeover by the Mainland.

kenfoggo 19th Nov 2021 10:13

Having left Hong Kong last year after a career there I can only say ,from my own personal experience, it is the best move I have made in a long time. Such a relief to rejoin the real world and not be constantly treated with contempt by my employer. If you can, get out. Everybody has to leave the darkness sometime.

Bindair Dundat 19th Nov 2021 16:06

The IQ comment stands Kaboy. No one is suggesting that being a pilot isn’t about the worst profession to be in at the moment and thousands upon thousands have been let go but to harbour such derision for the ones left behind is myopic. Pilots are great at cannabalizing each other and having zero ability to think big picture. Management knows you will all turn against each other and it just makes it so much easier to squeeze harder.
china’s approach to Covid is delusional. Every human on this planet will get Covid. It’s too infectious now and to keep these draconian measures in place to control something that is uncontrollable is madness. Bolster your health care systems and arm your population with protection but none of us get out of this without being touched by this new disease. To endorse ‘the rules’ because someone is employed and your not so ‘eff them’ is low IQ thinking.

KABOY 19th Nov 2021 22:11

Did I endorse the rules? The word 'rules' I think sums up what you are required to do. I respect rules, hence why I am not in jail or unemployed.
Whether I agree or not is another matter, but you do have a choice on whether to respect or disregard. I think your biggest enemies are your own fellow pilots, reporting back on the rules being broken.

My IQ is high enough to realise consequences if I disregard them.

Becky330 19th Nov 2021 23:40

I think we can all agree that the 'rules' are complete BS and detrimental to our profession not only in an economical sense, but more importantly affecting the very sanity of our minds. Personally, I have worked in harsh conditions and been subject to my fair share of drama and trauma in life, but the amount of stress I experienced in the last 12-18 months triumphs over all those events combined.
Being away from family is tough. Losing your job in the midst of global downturn is tough. Being threatened to enter a concentration camp every time you show up for work is an insult. And now even the public is against us, easily forgetting who are the ones taking all the risk in order to bring them their live lobsters and Christmas presents

Do I agree with the rules? Absolutely not. Do I follow them? Unfortunately yes. I know full well that if I get a speeding ticket, going up to the judge and saying "But your Honour, that 50 speed limit on the expressway makes no sense!" isn't going to get me off the charge. Everyone else is following the speed limit. You do not challenge a law by first breaking it.

Believe me, I do sympathise with the guys who got the sack. I have not done a closed loop cycle but from I gather it isn't a pleasant experience at all. However, they did knowingly break the rules and should be prepared to accept the consequences. How else would it be fair to the others. Look how far it has set us back. Sorry to say, their actions were selfish.

KABOY - The guys with all the low IQ chatter are nothing but trolls. Don't take the bait. We are better than that.

Sqwak7700 20th Nov 2021 10:45

Just so you know the type of people running this airline. Pass it on to all in the industry, what a disgrace. How do they look themselves in the mirror.

The CHP has received an investigation report regarding the three cases from Cathay Pacific on November 18 evening. Based on the findings of the investigation report by Cathay Pacific, the CHP followed up with the three cases for their itinerary during their layover in Frankfurt.

Jnr380 20th Nov 2021 12:51

thanks for that article! Glad to know that stepping out in another country is now punishable by law in North Kor…. I mean Hong Kong

SaulGoodman 20th Nov 2021 13:34

Becky330

sorry but if I had to endure such regulations on EVERY destination that we go to I would also not adhere to them. It’s different when these regulations are being enforced by the local authorities such as in China or Thailand. In Germany there is no such thing as in-room confinement. I would have gone out of my room as well and if the company would fire me so be it. How long do you think this BS will continue? Especially as crews of the competitors have much more freedom on the same destination.

Klimax 20th Nov 2021 13:42

Hereīs the best advice that I can give to you sorry souls who stayed behind. Leave Cathay and leave Hong Kong. Itīs over. It will never come back. Live cheaply for a while somewhere far far away from Hong Kong. Donīt accept life to be what your living through right now in Hong Kong and with one of the worst employers in the industry. If you have family and kids - think really hard about what youīre taking them through right now. Cathay Pathetic digged a deep whole in the ground back in 2002 and itīs only been digging it deeper ever since. With the CCP and the Muppet HK government itīs just a dump.

Will IB Fayed 20th Nov 2021 22:52

If the article is to be believed, and the 3 members left their room, then they simply cannot be surprised that they were fired. They took a risk to break the rules, and got busted. I can only imagine flying in these current times is very difficult, but follow the rules or find another employer.

turnandburn 20th Nov 2021 23:17

And if they really did a proper investigation and checked CCTV for two weeks in FRA a whole lot more would be gone, and cx ops would be in the , some of the justifications I have heard are surreal, and some that were in PB a very lucky not to be included, if you live in a glass house don’t throw stones.

Will IB Fayed 20th Nov 2021 23:58

As someone said earlier, breaking the rules is not the way to change them.
If you can't abide by them, don't fly. If everyone does that......haha who am I kidding...

skyboss 21st Nov 2021 03:22

FAA EASA

Good post , the FAA and EASA should do an evaluation of the situation and decide if it is safe to let aircraft fly into their airspace.

turnandburn 21st Nov 2021 05:04

So check on drivers or airport immigration staff security or ground staff or anywhere else did not take place so there is no evidence where it was picked up, so no real investigation just garbage from co and used as someone to blame.
