Over 90% of the pax fleet parked, bleeding millions a day for over a year and destroying the brand along with this once great home city, and the cause that makes these muppets put pen to paper is your facial hair length or how or when to wear a jacket. Not a letter to the CHP to wake the fog up, not a letter to the government asking WTF are you smoking, not beginning the process of moving this airline to a country that hasn’t gone full totalitarian and can allow travel; but a letter harassing the only people that are now enduring inhumane treatment to provide the only source of revenue to this place going for two years now with no end in sight.

Yeah, that’s priority number one right now.

Haven’t you heard from or esteemed leader, they’re having to fight off applicants with a :mad: stick. Pilots are lining up to come and work for this circus, CoS18 is almost too generous it would seem.

Yeah it’s funny how prospective pilots look at the pay scale and it looks really good on paper, they’ll crunch a few numbers, maybe look up schools and apartments that fit the allowance CX offers without going into too much detail then apply.

CX plays on the fact outsiders don’t know the real cost of living in HK, suck them in with a bond and they got manning levels guaranteed for three years.

For locals, it’s awesome as vocational work for 5 years, but they know it’s not going to put them ahead in HK so they’ll quit and pursue jobs that will actually get them ahead in life.

This is CX modelling, they figured it’s cheaper to train someone every 3-5 years than to pay people a decent wage that they’ll stay, it looks good to shareholders.

The perfect example is that Italian ex fast jet SO with four kids who joined on POS18.

He had no idea and didn’t do any research at all.

A salary of 4000 Euros net is a fair bit of coin in Italy but in HKG?

BA thoroughly enforced uniform rules , to the extent that some of those here have experienced in CX. When flying pax on BA , I know their crews will be impeccably turned out, not a button loose or an irregular hairband .Their compliance with corporate standards is legendary; I would personally hate this !

Maybe they have a reason to be proud to wear the uniform properly.

Nothing says we work for an amazing company like forcefully trying to improve moral through uniform standards

Our leader also makes mention of the possibility of commands. With so much of the fleet parked, no sectors for currency let alone training, either this is the classic CX BS to keep guys hanging on (remember '...bases are part of the plan..') or the numbers heading out the door are reaching eye watering levels. Perhaps a bit of both.

Cx used to be full of these STC types, like a regimental sargeant- major. Most couldn't train to save themselves but were champion sycophants. But I guarantee a new breed of suck will emerge out of this shambles.

It averages over 2 resignations per day for the last 3 months. 1.6 per day in the top 1000. It’s definitely at least the latter.

In the 70s in the European division we recieved two summer and one winter uniform per year and a hat every two. No cleaning allowance which meant some were seen wearing shiney trousers and shirts that fitted like tents. I tailored mine and we had captains that bought Cavalier trousers from Burtons which had a reasonable fit. We had to wear full uniform in the simulator and I was once ordered three times in a month to have an ex con haircut.
Long haul on the VC10 we wore suits in the sim and were treated like gentlemen rather than Sargent pilots (apologies)..never was hair mentioned...standards were higher.
In Swissair we had designer uniforms, a laundry service and wore jeans in the sim..the Dutch wore clogs. The pay, conditions and professionalism was far higher which is why we attracted so many non swiss pax.
The most eccentric and best captain was an ex Mirage pilot who resigned his commission to fly to Africa amongst other destinations..he looked like the Dulux dog with yellow teeth but could fly the pants off anyone and when a pair of mirages accidentally framed his DC 10 cockpit in a vertical climb he insisted that there was a full investigation rather than sweeping it under the cheeses.
