All seems a little draconian to me.
Weren't these people tested before getting onboard? False positive, false negative aside, how is this the airlines' fault if proper procedures are followed?

What happens when Cathay eventually has someone test positive and they get banned?
I agree this seems a bit silly since a lot of it is out of the airlines control

the Nethlands is a low risk country so no requirement for a pre boarding check. Assume the pax lied about being in a LRC for 14 days and this fact could have been garnered by proper checking of paperwork/ passport

Thanks for the explanation, although looking at the numbers and they way the Dutch have dealt with their little Covid-19 adventure, I wouldn’t Class them as low risk.. that aside, same for the U.K.?

the U.K. is a High Risk Country so need a negative test to board.
there is a v efficient testing facility at LHR

So how is it BA’s fault that a covid negative person boards and then offloads in Hong Kong covid positive?

I wont shed a tear if this happens . Hopefully the Europeans will retaliate and prevent cx from flying to the EU. Period.

Would hazard the following "politically correct" response from the UK, or the Netherlands, to Hong Kong.

"Given that according to your verdict our Covid testing produced a failure result, it would be pointless to continue with, for instance, CX flights from the UK to Hong Kong, given that the passengers on those flight will still be tested by our test providers, which, and according to your verdict, are failing in the Covid testing being provided."

Well I for one completely agree with the ban. It's not like this is a virus that 99% of the people infected recover from...oh, wait :hmm:
