In a nutshell

An attempt to coldly and rationally distill between all the shouting for, and mainly against, this proposal.

There are two main things I expect from my relationship with my employer:

1) Their respect for the terms and conditions set out in the contract we signed, just as they expect of me, and
2) Periodical adjustments to my remuneration to broadly keep pace with inflation.

This proposal requires us to relinquish the one bit of leverage I have ever seen us wield, and effectively hamstring the union's efficacy for a significant period of time, in exchange for

1) An objective degradation in my terms and conditions (on ARAPA) and
2) An agreement to merely discuss pay, with a 1% backstop that is significantly lower than that offered other employees, and far lower than inflation (and no, pay points are not inflation adjustments)

In a nutshell, not good enough.

...and you think they are going to give you a better deal, just because you don’t feel respected and voted no...you are as delusional as most millennials...

if you think they will come back with more money..why was this deal not as good as TA16!

By Friday afternoon we will have turned down the TA, will be stuck on what we have for another 2-3 years and Rod would have bust the Union, purely because his ego, could not accept that he was an awful Chariman and that nobody liked him after he intentionally sabotage the TA16 vote.

... and by the way, they will destroy the TB by using all of the KA trainers and all of the guys who will quit the union and take up training!...then what leverage do you have...none!!!

Yes, another triggered millennial comeback. When my feelings get hurt, I start calling people names and put labels on them...go back to your safe space, where you can get the respect you think you deserve because the rest of the world does not give a rats ass about your feelings mate!

Frogman. Go back and read your own post. You are the one putting labels on people. Furthermore, Panza is probably spot-on with his observation. In spite of all the reasons espoused on this and other forums as to why this deal MUST be voted down (I don't want to vote NO just because...I am voting NO because it is the only option the company has provided), you seem to feel that being "stuck with what we have" is worse than seeing us effectively neutered by a callow and manipulative management. Ok, then vote however you feel, as will the rest of us. Some fights take longer than others, and this is one we are in that I will see to the end...even if it is another few years. Otherwise there really is on future here.

Wow, Frogman! That was the most cowardly post I've ever read on PPrune. Yes, Sir, I'll eat my **** sandwich. I'm scared that if I don't eat that **** sandwich, then next time, I'll only get 1/2 a sandwich with less **** on it!

Yes or No, I will never not work to my contract. Contract Compliance is my legal obligation. It is not industrial action. The company can get ******.

Wow frog and panza you are childish assholes.
Pprune is done. People like you lot have destroyed it with your boring nastyness. No humour. No sarcasm. No rumours. No value. I'm done here.
And freight doggie actually made a good and valid point when he started this thread.
