effectiveness training ban and upgrade slowdown

The union and cx are saying that the company is not really affected by the training ban (no real expansion/ KA training etc.), at the same time they are both saying that upgrade time is slowed down significantly, so that only the pilots are are disadvantaged.

Somehow this does not make sense to me.
If the upgrade times are slowed down, wouldn’t that mean that the operation is not running as efficiently as it should? Which means that the company IS losing money because of it.

Am I the only one who is having a problem with these two statements?

If the upgrade times are slowed down, doesn't this indicate that cx is being affected by the training ban?

Oasis,

you are absolutely correct and any sensible person can see that. the problem is we are not dealing with rational or sensible people. if the TB isn't causing problems for the company then WHY are they insisting it be abandoned as a pre-requisite ? If the TB and CC is not having any impact on the company expansion then WHY are they insisting in their under umbrella that no similar actions be undertaken for another 30 months ?

the facts are very different. expansion is being thwarted and with that profits and more importantly CX's pre-eminence as Hong Kong largest carrier. expand or die and at the momenbt with CC and TD the prognosis is die.

The ONLY reason the Management is even bothering to talk to the AOA is because of the training ban.
Otherwise they would just impose a new contract(s) that state sign or you are sacked and achieve their stated goal of saving HK$1 billion in pilot costs.
This new contract demand sign or be sacked, was exactly what they did at the turn of the century.
I still have my two letters. One from the DFO and a week later, another one from the MD (CEO).
BOC's the lot of them.

Without the training ban you have no cards with which to negotiate.

Well you do. But very few at CX/KA seem prepared to exercise the option.

That is absolutely true. Everything they say is a politician’s answer. Half truths, manipulated facts and rhetoric.

If according to the GMA the CC/TB ain't hurting then why insist they be removed and banned for 3 years ???????

Bangaluru 17th Jan 2019 12:17

The illogical thing about it, and the dead give away, is that the GMA’s spiel implies they care whether their staff progress, are promoted, have satisfying careers etc. This plainly being untrue, his whole argument falls down.

Cavallier 18th Jan 2019 02:25

If the TB/CC is not hurting them then they had no need to talk to the Union at all !!!

RAT Management 18th Jan 2019 09:28

I just heard about the numbers they want to train in the next few years.... Huge! If the TB doesn't bother them now... It sure as hell will in the future.... Hence the umbrellas agreement.

If your unhappy and you know it.... Vote No!

Flex88 18th Jan 2019 14:30

Umbrella Agreement ?????

How the hell can anyone even consider this BS. Are you kidding..
Does it apply if you are not a union member ? How bout if you're a NO vote ??
Is it even legal to sign away everyones rights that are written in the employment ordinance ??
I highly doubt that this would even be allowed or considered (legal) in many western countries..

Even talking about this is ridiculous beyond belief - CX, joke! Swires, joke! AOA for even writing this garbage on a piece of paper, JOKE...!!!

#CXit before you give up your right for children or happiness !!!
